Maggot/Worm on indoor rabbit. I don't know what to do.

Hey Alyssa! I don't think its anything to get panicked about, and your care for your buns is amazing! Vet appointment is good, don't jump to any conclusions just yet. I'm sure you're keeping their litter boxes clean, but just a reminder, I know we can get busy sometimes. Keep us updated on sweet...

    Taking rabbits out in public

Hahaha, yes! All the responses, from "Is that real?" to "I used to have a rabbit as a kid." That one I internally roll my eyes to, because, yes, back in the days when rabbits gave you pink eye, and they only ate lettuce. Iceberg, no least. But people do love seeing my buns. I take them to the...

    Help with babies! ASAP

It sounds like it could be coccidia, which is contagious to other rabbits. You can it confirmed by having a fecal examination by an exotic vet.

Hey @Vince , hows your bunny doing?

Hello! New here with lots of annoying newbie questions

It all depends on your rabbit! Many members will tell you to start with one. If your bun seems content by himself, I wouldn't go and ruin his happiness with another bun. If he seems lonely, an ADULT female is best (at least one needs to be fixed, both is preferred), as a baby is considered a...

    Bunny Trip with Dog

He should be fine! My rabbits are scared of loud noises too, but my dogs go and bother them (by bother, I mean standing/lying in front of the cage and trying to lick the rabbit through the bars, of course supervised. We shut the dogs out of the room when we see the dogs getting too excited) all...

    Blockage in my girl..

Tammy, I am so sorry. You truly did everything you could for your sweet girl. I recently lost my baby to coccidia, even after taking him to an emergency vet. It's hard when we do our very best for them, but still loose them. Hugs to you!

    Alyssa's Bunny Blog!

I love your blog Alyssa! Can't wait to hear about the new bunny dates! Buns can be difficult sometimes, can't they? But the best part is when you're busy doing homework, or on the computer, or reading a book, and they come up to you, and flop right next to you. It makes up for those rough days.

    Any advice for ants?

Food-grade diatomaceous earth is actually safe for bunnies. There is the pool-cleaning kind, which is highly dangerous. I use it all the time in my rabbity for outbreaks of fleas, mange, mites, etc. Never had any problem with it, and put it right on the bunnies. Even use it on my hens for...

    Help!

Make sure he stays in clean fresh bedding... empty his litter box and clean it good. You can try to wrap it, but I think it will just fall off, or he'll take it off himself. You can try Neosporin on it, he might lick it off, but I've never had a problem with using it on my rabbits before...

    Help with babies! ASAP

The babies really shouldn't have anything other than pellets and hay until 6 months. Of course, theres not much you can do when feeding the mom vegetables. Its fine if they have a nibble here and there, but once they're weaned, don't feed the babies leafy greens, or any other fruits and...

    Pregnant Doe

Agreed, 10 kits is a larger litter. How soon do you rebreed after the kits are born? I'd try breeding her again after her current litter is weaned, and if its still small, then I'd retire her to a pet home.

    Pregnant Doe

Hello! No need to make different posts in different forums. When the post has recently been replied to, or newly created, we'll see it. Just one post per topic please! Its a popular rumor that the more times the buck falls off, the larger the litter, and while it's never been scientifically...

How did you start breeding rabbits?

Love this question! Thanks for asking. It all started with my first two “real” pets (not these little beta fish, as much as I loved them, I wanted something to hold and snuggle) at the age of 8, these two “Netherland dwarfs”(mixes from a farmer), Shiny and Millie. I loved those buns buns so...

    Slippery floor

It isn't bad, but can be dangerous if he feels like doing zoomies or binkies. He could land wrong, and slip, or accidentally skid into a wall. A rug, or even a towel or blanket you could put down while he's out reduces the risk. Have fun with your bun!

    Laboring Doe

Well, if she clearly has more kits, then yes, it could be stopped. I had a doe recently who had trouble giving birth, she'd have them all over the cage (was overdue as well) and didn't have them in a consistent manner like most rabbit births, so what I did when she stopped delivering was massage...

Need Advice on New Mom and Babies AGRESSION TO ME

Hopefully they aren't weaned at 5 weeks! They should be eating hay and pellets at this time, but still nursing. They should really be weaned at 8 weeks, but some of my buns wean themselves at 6 weeks. Doe should calm down over the weeks, if not, that might just be her temperament now...
