    Thinking about a third

Wanting a third because we can afford it, have enough space, want more friends for our current bunnies and want to continue rescuing unfortunate buns. We are looking next week and the rescue will attempt the bond :)

    Thinking about a third

Hey all, I currently have an almost 3 year old half lop (male) and 18 month old Nethie (female). Both desexed. They’ve been bonded for about 4 months now. We are thinking about a third. What do we need to consider? We adopt our bunnies from a rabbit rescue who also do the bonding for us. Is...

    Toilet training a second bunny

Hey JBun, Thanks for your advice. Yep, I've already asked the rescue to watch toilet habits for me and see how they align with our requests. And yes, I thought the same RE: hormones and settling time. So the rescue is happy to try and bond the two males, if they initially are okay, later down...

    Toilet training a second bunny

No, not at this stage. I will be under the guidance of the rescue about what to do when we get home. We don’t have room for a second cage, the one Marshall is in currently is very large. I’m hoping the bond will be at a stage where we will not need to separate them. I’ll worry about that once we...

    Toilet training a second bunny

Yep, Marshall is fixed. The two he is going to meet on neutral territory are being fixed today and he will meet them in 2 weeks. One is a 4 year old male and the other is a 5month old female. We are trialling dates with both, but I have preference for the female. She’s gorgeous. If all goes...

    Toilet training a second bunny

Hi everyone, We are thinking about getting our existing bunny a friend. Our bunny is 100% litter trained. Has never had an accident, always goes in his tray. Will getting a second bunny change this? What is some advice for training a second bunny to use the litter every time? Thanks!

    Second bunny

Thanks for your reply! Marshall hates being held up high definitely but won’t sit in my lap happily and would NEVER cuddle on the bed next to me. He just runs away, wants to be in a corner. If I hold him while sitting, he will tuck his face into my arm and hide. My dream is for him to sleep...

    Second bunny

Hello everyone, We adopted Marshall, our 12 month Mini Lop cross 4 months ago and think we would like to get him a friend. He is still quite shy and affectionate at times, but stills hates being held. Would a second bunny who is more comfortable with humans and affectionate help Marshall be...

    Adopted bunny who was mistreated

Hey TreasureFriend! He’s great, getting better. Let’s me hold him and cuddle him, against his preference but he tolerates it and loves his dry fruit treat afterwards. The trust is still building and I just love him to bits. I can’t wait to finish my shift and get home to him! Thanks for checking in

    Adopted bunny who was mistreated

Thank you everyone for your advice, comments and encouragement. Marshall has been fantastic, so happy and binkying like crazy. I managed to pick him 3 times today, hold him for a few minutes on my lap, petting him until I could feel his heart stop racing and come to a normal rate. I then let him...

    Adopted bunny who was mistreated

I wish he followed me around haha. If I’m sitting on the ground near him, he’ll come up for a sniff but usually hops away. Never lies next to me or anything. It is very soon I guess. I’ll give it more time and stop picking him up!! I just get so sad when he runs away from me haha. wish

    Adopted bunny who was mistreated

Hello everyone, I recently adopted a Mini Lop x Standard from a rescue who was one of fourteen mistreated bunnies on a kill farm. His name is Marshall. Initially Marshall was shy, but got better after a week. It has almost been 3 weeks since we brought him home. Now. I do everything for him...

Just letting you all know I got a new cage, and sent the one I’d purchased back. This one is 140L x 70D x 50H and I got a pen to go around an increase space. Going to find a rescue rabbit from an orphanage in the next few days!

Mini Lop Cage Height - Pls Help.

Hey Blue Eyes, I have, though I can't find anything appropriate in Australia either. They're all poorly constructed/flimsy. I would love a NIC Construction, but no one seems to sell the **** grids. Ughhh, so frustrating. I won't be getting a Bunny until I have found the perfect home.

Mini Lop Cage Height - Pls Help.

I am able to return it, and unfortunately, in Australia it seems choices are extremely limited. There's a cage I'd love to get from the US but it's far too expensive with shipping costs. Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. I want the best for our new bun. He or She will definitely be...
