Baby, my 4 year old rex/mini-rex/lion head/Chinchilla mix has a fairly large lump on her backside -- please help!

Finally got the results back for Baby... Below is the pathologists report; Benign basal cell tumor, skin. COMMENT: These tumors are common in older rabbits. Most are benign, as in this case. Excision appears complete. If you have any questions let me know. I don't suspect it will come back...

Baby, my 4 year old rex/mini-rex/lion head/Chinchilla mix has a fairly large lump on her backside -- please help!

Update: Baby's surgery was today, it went well and she was already very alert when I picked her up. She is eating, drinking, pooping and walking around a lot. I gave her pain meds/anti-inflammatory. I opted into ordering the hystopath to see if the tumor was benign or not; I should get...

Baby, my 4 year old rex/mini-rex/lion head/Chinchilla mix has a fairly large lump on her backside -- please help!

Picked up Baby from the vet a few hours ago (Evergreen Avian and Exotic Animal hospital), and the doctor confirmed it is a tumor :( He said it is likely benign, but cannot be certain. I ordered them to send it to a lab to confirm or deny it is harmless, but I needed to schedule surgery...

Thank you for your response. I finally found a bunny saavy vet, after much calling around, and I am taking her in at 10:30 am Friday (today). I will update this thread, thanks again :)

Baby, my 4 year old rex/mini-rex/lion head/Chinchilla mix has a fairly large lump on her backside -- please help!

Hello, I have not posted in a long time, but a week ago, Baby, a very large bunny of mine who turned 4 in April, had a lump on her lower back/rump and it seems to look a bit more swollen tonight as I was cleaning her cage. When I first noticed, I assumed it was from a small bite from her mom or...

15 month old Big Bunny's spay surgery was cancelled due to concerns of her breathing?

Hello, I am very sorry to hear about your bunny. It is a GREAT sign that she has no wheezing, discharge, eats and poops normally... is probably not too serious, as she seems very healthy. But are the veins in her ears swollen? This is a givaway that she is stressed or hot. From my experience...

15 month old Big Bunny's spay surgery was cancelled due to concerns of her breathing?

Her breathing actually got a bit worse. Her eyes look a bit red, and she sounds like she is kind of struggling a bit at times...:( Very, very heartbreaking. Vet appointment on Saturday, and hope they figure it out this time. However, she is eating, pooping, running, climbing, etc. normally, and...

    Kits scratching. Normal or not

Awww, some cats and rabbits truly love to play, haha. My bunnies have always hung out with stray cats LOL. This is so cute!

15 month old Big Bunny's spay surgery was cancelled due to concerns of her breathing?

I have not...but because she has had them for more than 12 months, she would not be with me if she had an issue. I took her at around 7 and 9 months old. I will get one, though. Thank you

15 month old Big Bunny's spay surgery was cancelled due to concerns of her breathing?

I no longer use bedding, but when I did, it was natural paper bedding. I use just mild soap and hot water to clean their area. Her sneezing MIGHT have improved since I stopped giving them timothy hay 6 - 9 months ago, but never heard of a bunny being allergic of it.

    HELP! Bonded bunnies now fighting!

Unfortunately, this is extremely common and I learned the hard way. Baby bonds are not considered to be "real" bonds, as once hormones start to kick in at around the age your bunnies are, former best friends will usually begin to fight. The only exception I have personally experienced is a baby...

15 month old Big Bunny's spay surgery was cancelled due to concerns of her breathing?

Hello, I know that I have brought this up before, but I am very concerned about my big bunny, Storm. She is about a year and 3 months. I took her to a Spay & Neuter clinic today for a spay that I had been putting off due to her breathing and occasional sneezing, and the doctor said he did not...

Is there any way to stop bunnies from moving/getting out of their plastic pen against the wall?

Hmmm, those sound like great ideas! Before, I was putting the huge container that has all of their supplies, inside of the pen, but they still got out. I will 100% try firewood and/or bricks. Well, the spray is for dogs, and it smells great, so go figure, haha. Thank you so much for the help...

Is there any way to stop bunnies from moving/getting out of their plastic pen against the wall?

I apologize if this has been posted before or is too similar to my previous thread. But I am at my breaking point. I followed Blue Eye's great advice by using the wall to extend the playpen so that instead of having 5.5 - 6 feet to run around, they have about 10 feet, but they keep moving the...

What breed is this and what would the color be called?

Oh man, haha. Some males do have dewlaps. I forgot about the American Chinchilla Does this describe him? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla_rabbit

What breed is this and what would the color be called?

It looks like a Standard Chinchilla rabbit❤ How big is he? Might be a giant. Gary's mom looked a lot like this. Also, are you 100% sure he is male? I ask because of his dewlap. Maybe @SableSteel has a better opinion :)

    Oat hay vs orchard grass

As far as I know, they are extremely similar and interchangeable. Sometimes I run out of orchard grass and buy a little timothy hay until I can pick up again, but the bunnies never seemed to have any issues. Very sorry to hear that you inhaled some :( Maybe flush your nose and drink a ton of...

    Oat hay vs orchard grass

As someone who is also highly allergic to timothy hay, I strongly recommend orchard grass. You can get a bag at a pet store, or better yet, a half or full/compressed bale at a feed store :) You can then store it in a large container, and save a ton of money, since it is the bunny's main food
