    Cage bottom

@Gayle Helfand I've just upgraded my bun to a bigger cage and covered most of the bottom with cardboard. I'm using cardboard for several reasons: 1. It's easy to dispose of if he ever pees on it for whatever reason 2. It's free/cheap and easy to come by - we always have tons of cardboard from...

    Hello from England!

Welcome! That's an adorable bunny you have there! :) I'm originally from the UK myself. Custard creams are delicious, but they're really not bunny food! I'm concerned that feeding bunnies these types of sweet human food will only lead to long-term health issues. They aren't meant to have this...

    mini lop or holland lop?

@Cookiemonster I would say Mini Lop. The maximum weight of the Holland Lop is 4 lb according to the ARBA. Your bun is already 0.7 pounds over and she's not even fully grown yet! My Mini Lop boy weighed 4.6 lb at his last vet visit a month ago. He's 7+ months old now.

    Out of the blue aggression

@ILikeBigBuns this is as baffling to me as it is to you. My buck is also at a similar age (7+ months), also recently neutered (5 weeks ago), but he has never shown aggression or made any aggressive vocalizations. He never bites or lunges, not even when I smell like other humans and animals. Is...

    Hello I’m new!

@rabbitsteeth your bunnies are so precious! Good luck to the babies and I hope they'll have a loving forever home, either with you (if you're keeping them) or someone else. :)

    My Little Man Bam Bam

@Bam Bam I'm very sad that he passed, and usually I'm in tears when I read these rainbow bridge announcements, but I also feel comforted that he lived to such a good age. That's what we all want for our bunnies. Bam Bam was loved and now he'll binky free. I also love the Flintstones and think...

Rabbit won't let me clip his nails.

@Blue eyes your post is extremely encouraging. I'll definitely give it a try. I have to successfully trim his nails anyway before we going on vacation, so it's inevitable. @Popsicles I think you're right, and he does have to get used to it. The only thing that hinders me is that I don't have an...

Rabbit won't let me clip his nails.

How calm is your bunny? I've watched this video a few times, and it makes me so salty/frustrated that they have a calm bunny in these demonstration videos. Luigi is nothing like this black bunny. You can't so much as pick him up without struggle or attempts to escape. For me to get him up on a...

    Hello from a Dutch bunny!

Thanks Cookiemonster, your bun looks adorable as well! :D

    Bunny chewing everything!

Your post seems to imply that your bunny got sick from chewing on the cardboard box. Was this the case? There is no reason why chewing or even ingesting untreated and unfinished cardboard should give a rabbit health issues, as long as they don't ingest too much. If I'm missing any information or...

Rabbit won't let me clip his nails.

How and when do you approach Chan for this? I don't think his nails being too long would be reason enough for him to refuse trimming. He probably doesn't understand what you're trying to do, and he shouldn't feel anything as long as you don't clip the quick. I have much better luck with my...

    Peeing on the mattress :(

samoth, he can jump quite high if he puts his mind to it. He has jumped on top of suitcases before, and we're talking about those large ones for the cabin and not small carry-on's. :p The main problem is that we have no bed frame, and we won't be getting one until we move to our new home (don't...

Is it okay for rabbits to eat cardboard?

Mine loves eating cardboard! There are so many boxes in the room for him to play with and chew on, but most are in tatters from his ripping chunks out of them. I give my bunny untreated and unfinished cardboard. It's just wood pulp, so it shouldn't cause any harm, especially if their gut is kept...

    Hello from a Dutch bunny!

Thanks Nancy! He's the apple of my eye! :D

    Peeing on the mattress :(

I've considered an exercise pen before, but yeah, we are very low on space the way things are currently arranged. :( It was back to the drawing board today. I figured that one of the reasons the shower curtain was unsuccessful was because it didn't wrap around the mattress the way fitted sheets...

    My Little Man Bam Bam

It might sound weird to say, but you guys are blessed to have had a bunny that lived that long. I've read about so many sudden rabbit deaths and bunnies getting randomly sick that I'm always a little worried for the life of mine, and he's still such a young teenager (7 months). How Bam Bam lives...

    Bunny care during vacation?

Sadly, his current cage is not that big. He's actually using the old cage of my sister-in-law's bunny. When we got Luigi, we didn't have a cage ready, so my in-laws were kind enough to let us have this one. He is getting bigger, so I might have to look into getting a new and bigger cage for him...

    Bunny care during vacation?

What arrangements do you make for your bunny when you're on vacation or just need to be away from home for X amount of time? My husband and I will be flying out to the US soon. We'll be gone for three weeks. Our bunny Luigi will be moved to my mother-in-law's house until we return...

    My Little Man Bam Bam

If it were my bunny, I would ask myself how much pain he's in. He has a bunch of health issues, sure, but is he in any pain at all? Having nasal issues and being blind doesn't necessarily mean he can't enjoy the remainder of his life. Only when they are suffering a lot should a pet be...
