    Thinking about a third

We rescued a doe, Coco, and she had a litter a week later. Then a couple months later we rescued the buck who is presumed to be dad of the litter (caught same location a week before Coco after irresponsible owner dumped them, half of litter was lionheads and AJ is a lionhead), AJ. It took about...

Hello, new here with a trio of difficult girls!

If you call around to vets in your town you will likely find variety in pricing. We had vets charging what you quote, but found the VCA chain (not sure if they are nationwide) quoted 65 for boys and 120 for girls, much more reasonable. You might even try your SPCA, they sometimes can do animals...

    Questions! 1st time bun owner!

We use our regular family nail clippers. I bought the guillotine pet type when they were little but it's too clunky and the rabbits jerk their feet so much you don't have time to line up your shot. Better to just be able to see where the nail is coming through the clipper, and then just squeeze.

    Questions! 1st time bun owner!

I started trimming the baby bunnies' nails when they were just a month or two old, because they were sharp. They were so hard to see! I think at your bunny's age he's fine to get a trim. It's good that it's so easy to see the quick. With my parrot it was super hard, so I had to keep stiptic...

    Questions! 1st time bun owner!

4 months is the very soonest you can get him neutered, but since hormones are helpful for bone development and other beneficial things, since you don't have a second bunny you'd need to worry about accidental breeding, it's good to wait until 6 months. Then the vet can tell you definitively male...

Need help with a school project about rabbits and families.

Here are my 10yo son and 8yo daughter with our three buns, Coco, AJ & Peanut (the double-maned Lionhead). Both my kids are autistic, and for Jake, the buns have become therapy animals, especially Coco. He is with her from the time he gets home from school until he goes to bed every night, and...

I need advice on my next dwarf bunny, are Single Mane Lionheads extinct?!!

We rescued a rabbit that had been dumped by an owner onto the river parkway here and somehow had survived the winter. I got her at the end of March, and she gave birth on Easter to 11 babies. She isn't a Lionhead, vet called her a Netherland Dwarf, but she doesn't look like dwarf pics I've seen...

Just got a new bunny! Super nervous...

My 8 week old babies are also letting their cecotropes land on the floor around their run instead of reingesting as they're supposed to, or putting into the litter box. My only thought is they haven't figured out that part yet?

    Water bottle or bowl?

My seven are draining their water bottle 4-5x/daily. The first time I added a bowl they made soup out of the cage, but I tried again yesterday to add a bowl again to see if that would give them more options.

Coco the rescue mama & her babies

As the babies grew bigger, it became clear that some are Lionheads. The vet confirmed this and also sexed the babies for us on 5/21, but wants to see them back on 6/5 to confirm. That is also when he'll spay Coco, he wanted to give her a couple more weeks for her milk to dry up. My question is...

Coco the rescue mama & her babies

Hi there! I rescued Coco after an irresponsible pet owner dumped his rabbits on the river parkway here in Sacramento a year ago. In the intervening months, calls to Animal Control and neighbor visits to the perpetrator, and even though there were many predators (coyotes, owls, and mountain...
