    Rabbit is bloated!!

My rabbit recovered from GI stasis about a month ago. But a few days ago I noticed that his stomached started to expand. Sadly he developed bloat. I have been treating him with gas drops and frequent massages. So far he still has been eating and drinking just fine, but seems a bit uncomfortable...

    Bunny died today :(

Even if you took him to the vet last night there is a chance he still wouldn't of made it. You loved him I am sure you gave him a wonderful life. So try to rest easy knowing that. I am sorry for your loss.

GI stasis - only eating vegetables?

If vegetables is all shes willing to eat I would offer plenty of lettuce but make sure it is nice and wet so she can get hydrated too. I would say that one of the most important things to do is massage her stomach as much as she will tolerate this will help things get moving. Good luck with...

My doe doesn’t take of the kits

One tip I can give is not to hover over her or check on her too often. I can stress her out and may make her more inclined to neglect her kits. Also if she seems like she is stepping on them it mighty be her trying to get into position to feed her kits.

Outside winter cage for Florida buns?

I personally would stay away from using a heat lamp it could easily over heat the rabbit. Also if the power went out or malfunctioned the rabbit is now dependent on the heat. I would be careful of the rabbit eating or chewing at the cloth as well. Depending what can get into your yard if the...

    Bonding Question

    Are they spayed/neutered?
  9. Katie

Female rabbit is actually a male

Replying to the original question - Since they are bonded I would just put a divider in. So that he can't hump her but they can still lay next to each other and interact. If he is getting spayed in a week they should have no problem re-bonding in that amount of time. I would put him back in with...

    Failed Food Transition

Sadly I have tried all but braided hay, to no avail.

    Is this a Fuzzy Lop?

Just wanted to say that based on his breed his ears will probably fully drop around 6 months old. I love the picture with one ear up... so cute.

    Bunnies not chewing...

I wouldn't worry, as long as they are eating and drinking ok then they most likely don't have any teeth problems that would keep them from chewing on things. Some rabbits just aren't much of chewers. Also since you just got them give them time to adapt to their new environment. They will get...

Should I clean under my rabbits chin?

I wouldn't worry about it getting infected. Since it is on his chin it might be to hard for him to get off by himself. I would try getting a paper towel or a Q-tip wet to soften the poop so it will more easily come of the fur then try coaxing it out. Also Floyd is adorable!

    Failed Food Transition

I did get the one for poor hay eaters. That's is why I picked it, also probably why he doesn't like it.:p:) He is a picky eater for sure.

    Failed Food Transition

The reason I chose this pellet is because he sadly won't eat hay.

    Bald and black spots

When I was raising some kits a few of them kept mounting each other because they were reaching maturity and they started developing bald patches because of it. Not sure if this is the cause of your problem but just something to keep an eye out for. Even if you separate them into male and female...

Is my balcony properly rabbit proofed?

One thing I just wanted to mention really quickly is to make sure that your rabbit can't chew on the plant on the left side of the balcony because it could be potentially harmful. By the way I love your cat planters on the table, adorable.

    Abused Classroom Rabbit

One thought I had was if you have enough money try buying the rabbit from them. They obviously don't care for it so maybe with an incentive they might let it go. If you couldn't take the rabbit you could surrender it. But with that said, if you feel you have done all you can then sadly you...

    Stressed and anxious

The reason he pees on the bed is probably to mark his territory. Which in this case could possibly be you since the bed smells like you. Once his testosterone goes down it will probably help like, Blue eyes said. Once thing that could help is washing what he peed on with a little bit of vinegar...

Chance of unplanned pregnancy is there anything I should do

If possible I would wait it out. The gestation period of a rabbit is 31 days. Once the rabbit is in the second week of pregnancy, you should be able to feel little lumps like marbles in her abdomen. Be very careful not to harm the baby bunny's if she is pregnant. You could always ask the vet to...
