    Four Vet Visits-Help!

Thank you. He was prone to urine scald had to get butt baths often. And that scared me because I know that a wet rabbit can die. I can't help but wonder if the urine scald must be back and he didn't feel well and went into stasis because of that? I need everybody's input please.

    STASIS QUESTION

I meant add that he never stopped eating. He loved water and emptied the bowl every day. What made me alert to something was wrong is that he hadn't drunk his water. And throughout his illness which was about two weeks he never would touch water. I did fluids of course and fluids by mouth. He...

I don't remember if I have asked all of you this question but here it is. Have you ever witnessed a rabbit rallying and you thought he was going to make it but he died?

    Four Vet Visits-Help!

Thank you everyone. Half of the agony is not knowing what killed him. I just don't understand this. How could he get stasis out of nowhere when he lived in perfect conditions of hay and purified water and greens and everything else? And what I am agonizing over the most is did I delay his...

    STASIS QUESTION

Is it possible for a rabbit with constant fresh orchard grass hay, always a bowl of purified water, acceptable greens, extremely limited bits of fruit as a treat, and toys, is it possible to get stasis out of nowhere and for no apparent reason? I simply cannot imagine why this happened and my...

    Four Vet Visits-Help!

I wish to thank everyone for your kindness and support. My boy passed away this morning. I am devastated. I will bring his sweet ashes home in a few days. He will always have a place in my heart and my family. He is family and always will be. I will bring him home in a few days but just in...

I just don't understand why he won't drink from his water bowl. Is eating hay but not very much.

    Four Vet Visits-Help!

I'm not syringing fluids now. I'm doing subcutaneous fluids under the skin with a needle. I run his greens underwater before giving them to him. Tomorrow he's being anesthetized to get a blood sample. I'm so nervous.

He won't drink water no matter what. Now I'm doing fluids every day myself. Eats greens and hay. I'm afraid. The vet keeps saying that sometimes recovery from stasis takes time.

I will soak pellets in purified water and try. He's been licking Criticare from a spoon. Waiting for the vet to call back about the diarrhea. No new greens. Thank you so much.

    Four Vet Visits-Help!

Stasis, to the vet three times for fluids, syringing purified water, eats well but only pooping sludge and cecal. Finally appears to be drinking water on his own. Has been on cisapride for the past week. The vet says to get him eating dandelion greens and kale. Is cilantro bad for diarrhea? The...

    Pee Pee Tummy

Just wanted to say that I appreciate your replies. And to assure everyone that my vet is rabbit savvy as well as briilant. I wouldn't take my rab kids to him if he weren't!!

    Pee Pee Tummy

I forgot to mention that his arms are deformed. The vet doesn't know if he was born that way or that the arms were broken and never healed properly. He doesn't want to x-ray because a rabbit has to be anesthetized for an x-ray. He walks and hops and stands like if a person was walking on their...

    Pee Pee Tummy

I use a large cat litter pan for hay with newspapers on the bottom. The hay is always heaped high. I only do butt baths. I hold him under my right arm under warm running water and wash the areas with my left hand. The water is just a bit over lukewarm. I showed my vet the way I do this and he...

    Pee Pee Tummy

Took him to the vet. He said that Saltweedie can't have soft bedding because he is urinating in it and then sitting in the wetness. So I got him a very thin throw rug. The vet said if that doesn't help I just have to accept it and give him baths and brushings twice a week.

    Pee Pee Tummy

One of my boys has started to have a dark yellow staining and dry tangles on his tummy near his bottom. He's perfectly healthy. I've tried brushing with a flea comb, and I bought rabbit shampoo. The shampooing no matter how much I rinsed just left a gummy mess. Why is he doing this and how can I...

In tears, 1st bunny and she just started hating me .

Just thought of something else. My girl who is about 6 years old now still lunges and grunts a little when I'm getting her water bowl to rinse and refill. I learned to say something before I reach in. Seems to help.

Sorry about the typos. I meant pen not pain. Also when you're walking by the pen try not to move too fast. Slow motion gives her a chance to watch you and see what you're up to!
