I just don't understand why he won't drink from his water bowl. Is eating hay but not very much.

I'm not syringing fluids now. I'm doing subcutaneous fluids under the skin with a needle. I run his greens underwater before giving them to him. Tomorrow he's being anesthetized to get a blood sample. I'm so nervous.

Took him to the vet. He said that Saltweedie can't have soft bedding because he is urinating in it and then sitting in the wetness. So I got him a very thin throw rug. The vet said if that doesn't help I just have to accept it and give him baths and brushings twice a week.

Just thought of something else. My girl who is about 6 years old now still lunges and grunts a little when I'm getting her water bowl to rinse and refill. I learned to say something before I reach in. Seems to help.
