AH! I see what you are saying now. I literally just flipped it so the cage was against the wall instead of open. Thank you for taking the time to draw a diagram. I am a very visual person. :) I will look into what I can find to keep that one panel pinned against the wall.

Unfortunately the wire bars of the cage is what the x-pen attached to. I thought I would try this though and modify it and remove the actual top of the cage -- since there really would be nowhere for her to jump...nope. I was wrong. She just hopped out and squished behind her cage to run around...

As you can see I have Monroe set up with a 'Large' Living World cage and a 4' x 4' style X-Pen as she does spend most of the day in there. I have switched it around slightly (different bedding, hay manger on the bars of the cage, bigger water dish, etc) but generally the cage is still set up...

Monroe is small enough that I can cradle her like a baby between my arm and chest, then use the arm that is cradling to hold her back foot steady and use my free hand to operate the nail clippers. Or I cradle her between my thighs on her back but this hold seems to stress her more and is harder...

Not from the bed, however she had just peed about 20 mins previously on the bed before she got all cuddly and did not go anywhere near her litterbox when I put her back. She ate some hay, drank some water and then binky'd around before sitting and grooming herself for 20 mins. lol Her pen and...

Oh just to add on -- she is 5 months old now and was spayed on March 17th -- I know it takes time for hormones to work out of her system but I don't think this is hormone related?

She began circling me and then shoved her way under my arm -- I took this as she wanted attention...

Monroe doesn't mind her cat carrier either for travel or when I move her to another room to vacuum the room. Bar chewing has been a minimum now that she has her pen and even when I open up for free run time, she rarely comes out. I do hear her binky and zoom around her pen during the night but...

She does have a cardboard 'house' that I created for her as well as toys which I heard her playing with at about 3 am today. Barely any bar chewing! Yay!

I broke down and bought her an x-pen to expand her space. She now has a 4' x 4' pen plus her cage and of course will still get free run time. Hoping this helps but she seems to be enjoying her new digs so far. Who knew such a little (2.4 lbs) rabbit could take up so much space. LOL

Monroe is about 3.5 months now and this past week she has began chewing her bars and driving me crazy!!! I did Google and it said the cage wasn't stimulating enough and/or not enough out of cage time but I have added new toys, new chews....making new toys and buying new toys for out of cage...

There aren't many choices for rabbit foods that aren't filled with all the other seeds and fruit pieces and such! I was surprised when I started researching because you look dog and cat foods and there are millions! Haha

Thanks for the input everyone! I bought some botanical hay yesterday as it was rated a little sweeter and since she likes the alfalfa I thought it might get her eating some more. She is always eating her fresh veggies daily and fruit as treat so she is getting variety too. Are the Oxbow pellets...

I fill up her bowl about every 3 days -- the bowl itself is maybe 2 or 3 cups. She is eating the Oxbow Young Rabbit Pellets -- I know alfalfa hay is sweeter than Timothy hay could that be why she is eating more of the pellets? Her hay is a mix of alfalfa and Timothy.

I got Monroe about a month ago and she was 8 weeks old. Since I've had her, I notice she eats far more pellets than her hay and some reading I have done says this is bad but a lot of everything I have read says to offer unlimited hay and pellets when they are so young. Any insight on...
