    Matted fur

Ok thank you. Her poos are normal but I have noticed a few cecotrophes lately. It is poo matted in her fur though. Will cut down on pellets and see what happens. Hopefully nothing too serious 😕 Should I clean it for her? Or will she do it herself?

    Matted fur

Hi, My dwarf lop appears to have matted fur on her bottom. Should I go about cleaning it for her or will she do it herself? If I should do it, she's not keen on being picked up so any tips would be great... What can I do to prevent this happening in the future? Thanks

    Nesting

She is 7 months old... I just don't want her to be distressed by the whole thing.

    Nesting

Hi all, Willow built another nest last night. I am worried that it is causing her distress and she has been very agitated the last few days, very destructive and not her normal self. I wondered if it was going to result in her nesting and sure enough it has. If she is nesting does that mean...

    Nesting

Ah. Thank you. This explains a lot. She doesn't seem to have done anything to it for a few days and I've been cleaning around it anyway so will just remove it during tomorrow's clean. I will speak to the vet again about the op. Thank you

    Nesting

Willow is nearly 7 months old. I haven't had her spayed yet due to losing our last bun during his op. Also the vet suggested we get her used to being handled before considering an op. Anyway, she has, from what I can figure out by her behaviour, come into season a couple of times. This time...

    Sisters fighting! HELP!

Thank you for all your advice and comments. They are separate but they can still see each other and sniff each other through the cage. I'm going to speak to the breeder before changing the arrangement completely. My partner is not keen on months of keeping them separate and then bonding so...

    Sisters fighting! HELP!

I trust the breeder so I don't think she would give me false information about their sex etc. Is it too early to get them done? They are 17weeks... It's very distressing watching them fight like that, I'm not sure I'm built for that sort of stress. What happens if they can't be bonded later...

    Sisters fighting! HELP!

I separated them while we were out this evening then opened up the cages when we got back and they immediately started fighting again 😩 I've separated them off and won't be putting them together again! It's too horrific to watch. I got them from a breeder who didn't mention that they...

    Sisters fighting! HELP!

Ahh. I haven't got enough space to create a whole other living quarters...I got 2 already bonded does so that I wouldn't have to do this...I'm seriously worried I've made a mistake getting two. Trouble is they seem so happy and loving the other 90% of the time...one was even grooming the other...

    Sisters fighting! HELP!

Hi all. I have 2 female dwarf lops. They are sisters and were living together prior to picking them up. They are nearly 4 months old. They have had 2 fights since I bought them home. All other times they are inseparable. This fight, there is fur everywhere, one has a cut under her eye and...

    Stress!!!

Tonight we have had a boiler explode, smoke alarm go off, the room filled with steam, fire engines, and me grabbing the two bunnies and throwing them into their carry cage and getting out the house!! I'm very worried that this is far too much stress for them! Especially as I'm convinced Benny...

Rescue vs breeder, male vs female

We've decided to get a new rabbit after Benny sadly passed away last week. My questions are: Is there really any difference between spayed/neutered male and females? Some people have told me to go for a male as they are more likely to be friendly... I got Benny from a very reputable breeder...

    Benny passed away

I definitely don't blame the vet. They were very good about the whole thing when I finally plucked up the courage and went to see them. They let me see him and have a couple of minutes to say goodbye. She said she still doesn't know why it happened. They went back over the notes and double...

    Benny passed away

I took Benny in to have his op today feeling very guilty about doing it! Then the vet called me an hour ago and told me he'd passed away after his pre op medication was given!! She said she's never seen this happen before. I can't believe it!! There was this loud barking dog sat next to us...

    Neutering advice

Benny is 5 months now and I'm not sure if he has started spraying. There is a very distinctive smell around my house recently? What do I need to be looking out for??
