    neutering Male rabbit?

Neutering is a very good idea, my bun actually never started humping or spraying or being aggressive but some buns can develop that behaviour... After the op he's going to be very grumpy and will probably flick a lot but just make sure he has some nice food by him and let him repair. Don't let...

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

Sorry for the pause, it's been a long few days of being up nights force feeding but he's gradually getting better, there's big improvements each day! Had a couple of scary days where he wasn't eating but after getting his guts going at the vets he's now eating on his own and really just wants...

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

So he's eating a tinyyyy bit of brocollli today and carrot (and lots of force fed recovery paste). And just drank a lot of water with some help of a syringe. Think i've got a long way to go but I'm hoping this is a good thing. No poops yet though :S

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

Thank you for the link. I'm really hoping it's peripheral. As long as the infection goes I don't care how wonky he ends up as long as he can have a good life.

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

Yeah that's the thing, he doesn't want to eat hay and that's the main thing they need really to keep everything going. Not looking forward to the night....every morning will be nerve-wracking. Gah why are they so fragile?

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

That's good to hear that she recovered. Did her head remain tilted? It sounds like a long involved recovery process which thankfully I can administer since I work from home. But my major concern is the not eating in between...i suspect we will have to force feed critical care too. :(

    Head Tilt, will he survive?

So not only after checkups, going into stasis and a tooth operation, my bun Taco now seems to have head tilt. I knew immediately this morning that he wasn't right. His head is turning to one side and his eyes are scanning left to right. I really thought it was a stroke but after rushing to the...

    Deaf Bunny?

Aww that's sweet that he's bonded with the other bun. Mine sounds similar to yours Squidpop. I'm not too worried, it's not like he has to listen out for eagles in our flat i guess it just hadn't occurred to me before. Perhaps he is deaf hehe or ridiculously chilled for a rabbit.

Does your bunny make your heart melt?

My bun did exactly that at the vets! Was a real surprise. Once they do it once they realise it's actually ok to be cuddled/ stroked. Keep being patient and hopefully it will happen more often :D

    Deaf Bunny?

Hey there, It just occurred to me that my bun may be deaf. He's completely unresponsive to any sounds I make and has sort of been like that since he was a baby. I just went up behind him as he was relaxed and clapped loudly behind his ears but - nothing. He is incredibly brave and nothing...

    Bites till I bleed

Using treats is a great idea and the gloves. Also provided it isn't a pain thing and if the above suggestion doesn't work you could try firmly pushing her head down each time she bites and saying "no!" Then let her head back up, I did this with my bun when he nipped and he stopped doing it after...

    neutering

Hey there, So I just had Taco neutered on Friday. He's recovering well and eating. Doing a lot of sleeping... One thing that's caught my eye however is that when he walks he flicks his feet out (like when they "kick dirt" at you).. Could this just be because his area feels odd or in pain...

    Toys

Having a tube with a lid on is hilarious to watch them try to open it. You have to let them know there's treats inside and then just sit back and watch :P You could try two tubes, both with one end covered and then make one tube slightly bigger than the other so it can slide over the other one?

    Gaahhhh too cute *heart explodes

Why won't my bunny come out?

This is really puzzling since you mentioned she used to be fine when she was younger. She can't smell another animal or something can she? Anyone near your flat got a dog or cat? My bun becomes very withdrawn if he smells something he doesn't like. Usually meat or fish cooking. Or if you're...

    Rabbit neuter concerned ?

I've literally just had my bun neutered and we were given a syringe to administer to him for the next 3/4 days. I can tell he's irritated by it even now so I suspect he will be uncomfortable for a bit :/ hope you can get the painkillers :)

Small things mean so much :)

HA I love that sequence in your photos is like him laying down, all sweet and the next picture is him looking at you like: "Get off my sofa" My bun has learnt to get on the sofa too, but he doesn't really know what he wants to do once he's up on it :P and just ends up jumping down again haha
