    Tips on keeping smell down?

I also use wood pellets, for pellet stoves, for my rabbits and people comment all the time how they didn't even know I had rabbits because they couldn't smell them, LOL. Closing up the house for the winter I definitely need something that controls odor. I get mine from the hardware store.

how do you guys keep hay in their hutch

I use a hay rack, some gets through on the outside of the cage, but most of it gets in the rabbits. It's also right above the litter boxes

    Amount of water bunny drinks?

Rabbits drink a crazy amount of water. My rabbits drink about 34oz of water in 2 days! They are adults though and one is a flemish giant mix. About 5-8lbs. They also eat a ton of hay, so be prepared to give as much hay as they will eat. I've gone through about a half a bale of hay in 3 months...

    Help on holding Flemish Giant

Rabbits don't like being picked up. It's like a big hawk carrying you away. They are prey animals and ate best left on the floor. I coax my Flemish in my lap while sitting on the floor and pet her that way

What should I do for my rabbit?

Could be, I definitely would get your rabbit eating ASAP! Best can lead to stress, which can lead to gi stasis, which is fatal. If your rabbit stops eating, I world get to a vet immediately

New bunny questions - diet & living with cats

My rabbits get a half cup, but they eat a boat load of hay. I have had one if my cats ALMOST pee in the bunny box and I say almost because I pulled him out. Risky I know, but he was just getting settled in. Even if your rabbit is free range, you could still give him a little cage to do his...

    Moldy hay?

My hay is dusty as well. If I ever found a moldy flake, I'd just throw the rest away. Hay from a farm is cheap enough. I got my bale for 5 bucks

    Litter box frustrations

1.apparently he doesn't like where you have placed the box. This happened with my doe. I put the box on one side and she peed on the other! It only took me one time to learn, so I placed the box where she had urinated (after cleaning it up of course) And TA DA! Litter trained bunny. Same thing...

Getting apartment sprayed for fleas, rabbit safe?

No, no, no, get them out of there. At least for a couple weeks while it's working

    Sneezing fits?

Sounds like he might have gotten some dust in his nose. My guys do that if the hay is too dusty. I sneeze too when I get out. Maybe that's all. I would keep an eye on it tho and determine if he does it whole sticking his nose in a big pile of hay. If not, I might take him in, just to be on the...

    Pellet/Hay Debates

If I could afford to, I would feed oxbow. Ask the pet stores around you if they can special order the sweet meadow for you. If it's a smaller pet store, there's usually something they can do. I also use hay from a farmer, $5 for a 25 lb bale. I got one that's a mixture of grasses and a little...

    Introducing vegetables and pellets

Hay is something that you don't need to transition and should be given free choice immediately. Grass daily and carrots can be given sparingly ( I give greens daily and carrots once a week). Anything else like lettuce, kale, turnip greens or spinach, give a little at a time until you are sure...

    Looking to Fix Anger Issues

I also use the wood pellets (for pellet stoves) for litter in my litter boxes. Works extremely well and absorbs odor. I change it twice a week. It's also a good idea to add hay to the litter box as it encourages them to use their box. I like to have the hay be above the box, but make it so they...

Mom and Dad will not let me get bunnies!

This is why I'm glad I don't have kids, because I would have even more animals than I do currently! LOL! I was able to get a dog, then a couple hamsters in my mom's house, but I had to write a page long essay about the complete care of the animal and how owning that animal will help me in my...

    First bonding session gone wrong

It was about 4 they are in the same room and I let them out opposite of each other every day for about an hour a piece and every weekend I would try them out at the same time. after about 4 weeks they stopped fighting. My female would grab on to the baby bunny and fur would fly all over the...

    First bonding session gone wrong

I wouldn't give up. My bunnies seemed to enjoy hanging offside each other's cage when one would be out, they would just lay there side by side, then the fur would fly when both doors were open. I started offering a big bowl of veggies and they would be peaceful when the veggies were plentiful...

    Castration failed? ? ?

Did YOU take them to get castrated? Or purchase them that way? If the latter, I would think the people lied to you. Not surprising yo make a sale. And yes, I would think the 3 month olds could have a litter, depends on the breed tho
