    Toronto rabbits need home ASAP

People are rather uneducated about shelters and humane societies. I am disgusted and actually offended when people posts things even though they are considering the animal. Considering you are in a not so good environment as you stated, and have to give them up (understandable). Most...

    Behaviour Between 2 Neutered Males

Sounds like Dexter wants George to clean him. My guys do that, sometimes the other one will and sometimes they will nip his butt to say get lost.

My bunny as weepy eye help

I had a foster who had weepy eyes, it was due to stress (I assume as she was at my house she was fine). She still has spurts of it, and the vet after tests figured it was tearduct issues. I take a warm cloth, and hold it just below the eye. It will unclog it, and I clean it. If it's green/...

    Is this normal?

My guys do that when they are really relaxed, it almost looks like they are dead. Many times in the summer, they do it on the tiles as they are cold.

How much time do you spend with your buns?

My 3 rabbits are free run (so no cage), which means compared to when they were in a cages I don't spend as much time with them. My rabbits are odd, they all have behavioural problems, so just having them out from under furniture is good. I usually spend a few hours with them a night (it can be...

Using the bed as a litter box

Marco was adopted at least 5 times (on paper), from shelters. He is roughly 5 years old, he was fixed before he came to the shelter I volunteer at (so I honestly don't know how long he has been fixed). When I got him, I was told he would never be around other rabbits. He was in past homes...

How much should I be feeding my rabbits

My guys get retricted diet of pellets, as my one guy is a little fat (he was neglected in the past, so when I first brought him home, he would get into cupboards and eat the entire bag of pellets). So my guys get about 1/2 cup to a cup of pellets, split between the 3 rabbits (of course the...

Using the bed as a litter box

I have 3 rabbits Marco (5), Radar(4), and Fifi(2) they are all neutered, and spayed. I adopted all 3 from a local shelter in which I volunteer at, and all have a history. The 2 boys were completely litter trained, and are free run (no cages), but use litter boxes. Fifi was not litter...

    Alfalfa?

Depending on your age of your animals, I wouldn't feed alfalfa straight all the time. If they under 6 -12 months, or pregnant then yes this is perfect otherwise I would do straight Timothy. My guys are 5, 4, and 2 (my rabbits,), guinea pigs are (6, 2, and 2). I sometimes feed them alfalfa as a...

    Behaviour Between 2 Neutered Males

Male to males are the hardest to bond. The fur pulling, and circle is normal, and by breaking them up this starts the cycle over (bonding over). I bonded my two boys Marco and Radar took about 4 weeks in total (both my boys were fixed years earlier). My issues was my first rabbit (Marco), had...

My guys would love this!!! I have 3 rabbits (Marco, Radar, and Fifi). Also, 3 guinea pigs (Plume, Paprika, and Max), also my hammi (Roamer) who would all love them. Plus, I have several fosters from the local shelter who would love them as well.

Bald patches & sore to touch?

Right now I feed him (and all the rabbits). They get pellets (martin mills timothy pellets - my one guy will only eat those ones) in the morning only 1/2 cup for all of them together (the vet always comments how she doesn't like pellets and remove them). I have dropped them down, and only give...

Can you guess what my guys are?

My first guy is a mini lop cross, my second is a dwarf lop cross, and the foster is believed to be a fuzzy lop (what the other shelter figured she was). I know they are all cross, thought maybe I could guess the cross. The foster was isolated, and had been to the vet. She has tear duct issues...

Bald patches & sore to touch?

He has an attitude to begin with, so being picked up he doesn't like. The vet shaed his bum hair, because he tends to get poop stuck. I damp it with a cloth, and comb it out. It got so bad, because he wouldn't let anyone near him. But when I touched it, he ground his teeth a little, and went for...

Can you guess what my guys are?

I currently have 2 rabbits, and 1 foster rabbit. My first he is about 3 -5 years old (he has been passed through shelters so age is within that), he is about 6 -7 pounds. My second boy is 2 -4 years old (he has been passed around shelters so roughly by his papers. He is about 3 -4...

    Toronto rabbits need home ASAP

If you send me a message I can let you know by the end of the week. Our shelter could take, them if we have the adoptions go through this week. We are about an hour north of Toronto. There would be a surrender fee, but we screen all potential adopters, and find each and every animal a home.

    Male being fertile after neuter

They say 2 weeks, but I usually tell people 4 - 8 weeks. A lot of times at our shelter, we don't want unexpected litters. So we tend to lean on the longer time to be safe.

Bald patches & sore to touch?

I noticed tonight my male rabbit (who is fixed), around his man parts, the hair is missing, and it's rather red. I touched it and he tried to bite me. It's clearly uncomfortable for him. Now the last vet visit in August she shaved his bum, I never noticed, her going this far (I think it's...
