What do you do if you have 10 or more babies?

The youngest babies I have are 6 weeks old. Since I only have two does I like to breed one when the other one has her kits. So none of the babies are very close

What do you do if you have 10 or more babies?

She is a New Zealand Californian cross, this is her second batch of babies! She is a great Mum and when I hold her babies when they are older she misses them and when I bring them back she wags her tail, she actually wags her tail and tries to jump out of the cage to met them!

So one of my Rabbits had her babies yesterday afternoon and I counted them and there were 10 babies, it got me thinking she only has 8 nipples so how does she feed two extra babies? But I have had a Rabbit that had 14 babies and all of them lived (There were like 3 runts though) Anyway I was...

    Rabbit grazing area?

Ok so normally I just let my rabbits out into the yard and let them graze while I am keeping an eye on them, but after my scare yesterday with the rabbit running away I figured out that I needed a better system! I used to put adult rabbits in a child's play pen but it has been broken beyond...

I had the biggest scare today!!!

This morning I decided to bring all six of my 3 week old babies outside because it was a beautiful day and I wanted them to get some sunshine! I was watching them but when one ran away I ran to catch him but when I got back to where the rabbits were another one was missing! I looked around and...

    Emergency! (unexpected litter)

Put a box in her cage and pack a lot of hay in it then pound your fist in the hay and make a little burrow in it, but the fur in the nest and put the babies in it they should be fine! If they got cold you can warm them up with a hot water bottle (But be careful the babies could get to hot) or if...

Looking for a New Zealand or Californian female rabbit?

I am looking for someone who breeds New Zealand rabbits in the North Okanagan Canada. I live in Enderby but I am willing to travel to Kelowna, Kamloops, Revelstoke, Vernon and Salmon Arm. If you breed Californian rabbits then say so because if I do not find any New Zealand breeders then I will...

    Feeding baby rabbits grass

You know I think you are right about that! My older brother had rabbits before me but got to busy and gave them to me but before that he bred them and their babies always had problems after eating greens, the mothers never ate greens. When those rabbits died I bought some 8 week old rabbits from...

Sleeping with your rabbit? Has anyone done it?

I sleep with baby bunnies all the time but I can't sleep with them in the night it needs to be in the afternoon when I'm having a nap because I move a lot when I sleep but I must not move as much when I am just having a nap. My adult bunnies aren't cuddlers:)

    Feeding baby rabbits grass

Yeah you are so right! I guess every rabbit is different! My rabbits must have pretty good stomachs because I was feeding them grass and 3 weeks. I have learned though that it isn't a good idea to feed a 3 week old runt grass:) My runt had problems for days after I fed her some grass:)

    a few weaning questions!

    1. Kits can be weaned at 4 weeks old but it is very stressful for the Mum and the babies, I wean mine between 6 and 7 weeks depending on when I breed the Mum again. 2. There aren't any clues really, I just wean them at 6 or 7 weeks, they are often done nursing by that time:) 3. Not really but...

    Feeding baby rabbits grass

I don't know if you wrote the word spraying wrong or you read what I wrote wrong, I said I feed my rabbit's un-sprayed grass. I know spaying has nothing to do with it:)

    Feeding baby rabbits grass

I have read in every book that I have ever had that you should never feed rabbits green grass or vegetables even if they aren't sprayed if they are under 1 year old. I have never listened to the books and have fed my rabbits grass and vegetables as soon as they can eat, they never have had...
