    Getting a Second Rabbit

Hi Everyone! My boyfriend and I are looking to upgrade Spock's (2 year old Dutch, neutered) cage and possibly get a second rabbit. Spock usually has free run of our small apartment 99% of the time. However, we just got a Springer Spaniel puppy so he has been spending more time in his...

    Post Neuter Blues

Spock was neutered a few weeks ago. The surgery went well and there were no complications. However... The vet suggested he wear an e-collar - he's the type to rip out his stitches. Unfortunately, Spock was Not. Happy. about it. The stress of wearing the collar resulted in him having runny...

    Dig Box

Keeping him further contained is not an option. The apartment is very small and I refuse to make his environment any smaller. Spock is only let out with supervision (if we age gone less than 45 mins or so, he usually stays out). He is Not Allowed in the cat's litter box, but sometimes he manages...

    Dig Box

Spock likes to dig. He digs on paper bags. He digs on clothes. He digs in my hair (ouch!). I am thankful that he is a digger, rather than a chewer. However, he has started digging in the cat's litter box. Beside's being gross, I also worry about him ingesting the cat's clay clumping litter...

    Very Skinny (bones visible) Rabbit

I'm fairly new to rabbits, but have lots of experience with other animals. It sounds like it could possible be a heavy load of worms. Either way, get the poor boy to a vet.

House bunny - where does yours sleep at night?

Spock is out "unsupervised" for the majority of the day - he has his "room" and can also come out into the living room to visit/run around. He goes back into his cage at night (around 11pm, at the earliest). He is a recent addition to our houshold and is still getting to know the cats, so it's...

    Hey there!

Aha! Yes he is most definitely a Dutch. Thanks JBun! All the pet stores I went to said either "Dwarf" or "lionhead" and no extra breed details were listed. (No need to worry - these were small "mom and pop" type stores, not the big box type that often don't have great standards for animal care)...

    Hey there!

Hello, my name is Katie and I was recently given a rabbit for Christmas by my wonderful boyfriend (it wasn't a random surprise, we had a lonnnggg discussion about it). I've totally fallen in love with the little fellow! He's a dwarf rabbit (netherlands, I imagine, but I'm not sure). He's about 6...

    Hay Price

Due to a poor growing season across North America, hay prices and quality will be extremely varied. I'm a horse person, and I believe my barn is paying 6.50 for a 40-50 lb bale. I have heard prices of anywhere from 3.50 to 12.00 - it has been a WILD hay season.
