    Looking for a Home

Unfortunately, for a number of reasons, I need to find a new home for Gunston and Whidbey. Gunston and Whidbey were 2 of 80 rabbits rescued from an animal hoarder about 2 years ago. Gunston is quick to warm up to you (if you have treats...) and Whidbey will usually follow Gunston's...

Hard question - how much would you pay?

Thanks for all your input. I think that's what makes it really hard. I have a limit, but depending on the prognosis I may go above that, or might not go that far. But I'll be pretty much out of the loop should something come up.

Hard question - how much would you pay?

Two part question: - How much would you expect to pay in a medical emergency? - How much would be willing to pay to treat your bunny? I know most people here would do everything they can to save or treat their rabbit. But the unfortunate reality is that there is a limit. The reason...

Yes, everything except the hay is coming from my house. They have horses, so have access to good hay.

    Bunny Sitter

We are a 'go' with the bunnies vacation home! They should move in this weekend. Any other tips for making the transition as easy as possible for them?

    Gunston and Whidbey

I met Gunston and Whidbey's foster family today :) They seem great, and and I'm definitely less worried about leaving them for three months. I think they will be very well spoiled :bunnydance: The plan is to move them up there this weekend so they have about a week to get settled before I...

    Bunny Sitter

Yeah, it's 3-4 months. I'll also get the documentation necessary to authorize vet care. I think that's actually in the packet of information from the organization we're working with.

    Bunny Sitter

I don't actually meet her until Tuesday, but I'm really hoping it works out, because I'm have about a week before I have to move them in. She doesn't have bunnies, but has a wide assortment of other animals, and came well recommended.

    Bunny Sitter

I'm trying to get everything ready for Gunston and Whidbey's vacation. I've written up their eating habits and treat likes/dislikes. I'm also giving their foster mom a link to this site. In case of emergency, she'll be taking them to her local vet (they specialize in rabbits, and my usual...

    Heated Garage?

She sounds great, and really knowledgable about animals, particularly rescues. I go to meet her next week :) And then if all works out, the bunnies head to their vacation home in about 2 weeks :bunnydance:

    Heated Garage?

Got more info :) It's not really a "garage" it's a garage that has been converted into an extra room. These people sound great, fingers crossed it all works out :)

    Heated Garage?

Thanks, I'll ask about both those things.

    Heated Garage?

As you may know, in trying to find a foster family for my bunnies for 3 months. I just had a potential caretaker contact me, and said she could take them but their cage would be in a heated garage. My initial concern is if they park in the garage the fumes. But if not, is there anything else I...

HELP - Foster Family Needed (Virginia)

Hi Everyone, I need to find a foster family (preferably here in Virginia) for my bunnies for the end of January through April. I will be away on military orders. Gunston and Whidbey have had a rough start to life so are a bit shy but will warm up to you. But they do tend to do better in...

    Am I getting ripped off?

Check Craigslist for baled hay. That is definitely the cheapest way to buy it. You can store hay in the garage, buy I would set it up on two pieces of 2x4 (or something similar) so it's not resting on the concrete, because moisture can be trapped that way.

    New Hoomin

Update on the new hooman. The other day, mommy picked my up so that the new hooman could pet me. He was pretty nice. Though still a little big and scary. He keeps trying to gives me cranberries, but I'm still on STRIKE! (though my resolve is weakening... cranberries are yummy, and he seems...

    Pellets

Great! Thanks :) I wasn't sure exactly what to look for in a pellet. I'll buy a bag and start mixing it in :)

    Pellets

I've been feeding my bunnies one brand of pellets since I got them, mostly because it was the only type I could find. I think it's Purina's Complete Natural AdvantEdge. (I don't have a bag here because I dump the food into another container) I just discovered that the pet store close to me...
