    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

My (approximately) 8 year old rabbit had a tumor removed last year, also on the skin, and he recovered just fine. That was his second tumor removal (the first was when he was probably around 4 or 5 years old). His tumors were smaller, probably a little bigger than the size of a pencil eraser...

My bunny is loosing weight! Why?

I've been having the same issue with my boys too (7 and 8 years old). They seem less interested in their pellets (I give 1 teaspoon per pound in weight) and they don't completely finish their bowls overnight. They appear to be acting normally and I do see them eating, just not the entire...

A rabbit that doesn't eat hay....

My Snowball hates hay. I try feed to him and spits it out! I've tried every brand, all different kinds, and even smeared banana it. He's so stubborn. My other bun Buttercup loves hay. I'd also welcome any suggestions the group has. Can't restrict other food because he would starve himself!

    not eating

As mentioned above, your rabbit really shouldn't go more than about 12 hours without eating or 24 hours without eating normally (carrots and nothing else is not a normal rabbit diet), so call the vet to make them aware of the situation. If you do not have Oxbow Critical Care powder, you can...

How do you choose? - advice would be greatly appreciated

Have you thought about keeping them in separate cages while you're not home? My rabbits stay in their cages when I'm at work and they can come out for supervised play as long as someone is watching them. They are a bonded male pair, but they became un-bonded twice (after an emergency trip to the...

    Automatic/Timed Pellet Feeders?

Does anyone know of a good feeder for rabbits that dispenses an appropriate amount of pellets? The reason I ask is because some days I work long hours and I would prefer not to give them their entire amount of pellets when I leave the house at 7 AM, but I also don't like making them wait until I...

    Strange behavior

I'm glad my Snowball isn't the only one who eats his fur! We had our annual check up with the vet yesterday and she tested him for parasites (negative, fortunately), but she suggested feeding him a higher fiber pellet. She thought he may know he is lacking fiber (he refuses to eat all types of...

    Odd behavior?

It's a good thing that your rabbit is doing binky jumps. That means he's happy! The thumping I'm not so sure about...are you sure he's actually thumping, or is he just hopping loudly? My larger bunny Buttercup is about 10 pounds so he often sounds like he's thumping in the middle of the night...

    Critical Care Instead of Hay

My little one (now almost 3 so I guess not so little anymore) didn't eat hay at all for the first 2 years we had him. He's finally starting to eat little bits of hay lately, and the brand that I've found he likes is Sweet Meadow Hay. Our vet recommended Oxbow (which I buy as well) but Snowball...

Does anyone know of a place in CT that there are Hoppy Hours, or would anyone be interested in getting one started?

Going outside for the first time

I have one of those for my rabbits but they don't like it. The harness seems great and stays on the bunnies very well, but mine just don't like the feeling of being restrained (and my older one is actually afraid of the outdoors). Good luck though! :)

    wierd poop?

funnybunnymummy wrote: I'm having a problem like that with my younger one, Snowball - his poops are small and brown (I'd say maybe 3 mm in size) and are kind of clumped together. We feed him and our older one, Buttercup, pellets and vegetables, as well as fruit. I guess we probably shouldn't...

Im allergic to my new rabbit but not my old one. Why?

My mom had that same exact problem. We got Buttercup in April and she was fine, then when we got Snowball in December she started sneezing and complaining of itchy eyes, etc. She seems to be fine now (both rabbits were neutered in late December). They're both going through a shed right now...
