    Salt?

My two, especially Qtip, have been obsessively licking the carpet recently, especially around baseboards. I know house bunnies don't need salt wheels but could the licking be a sign of that? Nothing has changed in the house, but the licking is new.

    Sneezing

Qtip, my 3 year old mini rex has been sneezing a bit in the past few days. There's no discharge and she is acting like herself. Alfie, her husbun, is not sneezy. Pollen has been super high here recently...could this be an allergy thing?

    Hair in poop

Hey guys, In the past day or two, I've noticed a few of alfies poops have hair in them. He is eating fine, pooping fine, and very active so I'm not terribly worried but is there anything I can give him? He gets two or three oxbow papaya tablets a day.

    Alfie and the litterbox laxness

Mr. Alf has taken to peeing a little bit on the carpet outside the box. He only does it right next to it, never in another room. Any idea how to curb a suddenly pee happy bun? He's real good most of the time but its happened like three times in a week. He's a neuteted, bonded, 3ish year old...

    Qtip seems off

This evening tippy has been hopping and sitting a little uncomfortably. She doesn't seem hungry, which is weird for her. Don't have meds on hand but trying to mash pellets. Alfie seems quite worried about her. Stomach feels fine, not bloated. Any ideas? 2.5 yr old mini rex.

    Scab thing on inner ear

I just noticed today that Q tip has this scab looking thing on the inside of her ear. It doesn't seem to be bothering her and I'm not really sure what it is, since we snuggle all the time and I just noticed it for the first time today. Unfortunately the vet's office is already closed and is...

We made a new hay rack!

Tippy had been pooping outside the litterbox when we were using a freestanding hay feeder (a laundry basket with a lid), so we have been working on ideas for a new one. Hung a basket over her litterbox but she kept pulling it down. This weekend, my lady designed a new one, and we took a trip...

    Outside litter box poopsplosions

Q is my good little bunny. She was easy to litter train: I got her, I put her in the box, and she got the idea. She's been good for the past two years. However, the past few weeks, when we wake up in the morning, she has pooped EVERYWHERE around her litterbox (yes, I know, silly human, be glad...

Ants in carpet-how to remove them in a bunnysafe way?

The ants are back! At first, I'd seen just small handful in the bathroom. Those have been taken care of. A cornstarch line has been put inside the pantry door. A week went by. Now, the girlfriend woke me at 6:30 this morning as she was leaving for work to tell me that sometime while we slept...

How to move a kitty into bunny's apartment?

So the girlfriend has a mean, evil kitty who we left with her mom when we moved. We figured he already new the house, sometimes wanted to be an outdoors cat, and her mom might need some company. Also, Q-tip has been known to beat the fluff out of him. Well, her old/not in great health mother...

    Rabbit Safe Ant-Killer?

So I've noticed a few ants recently. Not enough that I can find where they're coming from, though. They like Tippy's water bowl (it's over 100 degrees and hasn't rained in ages so I know they're just coming inside for water) and I've found a few in the pantry. I need a way to get rid of them...

    Extra-sheddy mini-rex

hi y'all, I've been sort of MIA for the past few months; finished up my Master's degree, went on an awesome vacation to celebrate, and now I'm trying to find a job and move into a new place. Meanwhile, the Tipster has been doing wonderfully. She's her sweet, snuggly self and has really done...

    Using chair as litterbox

Well, my little bunny is rebelling. Ms. Q has always been perfect with her litterbox. The day we got her, we put her in it and she hasn't had any intentional poops outside it since. That was two years ago. A few days ago, I noticed a few poops on my (her) chair, where she sleeps at night and...

    Fluff in waterer

We just got Tippy a waterer (one of those things that looks like the little water jugs turned upside down in a bowl) and she loves it. I love it too, but there's only one problem. She's a mini rex. She sheds...a lot. Especially right now, when she's molting, the waterer becomes quite...fluffy...

    Apartment bunnies-weigh in!

Hi everybunny, it's Q-tip here. My mommies told me this morning that they're thinking of getting an apartment together next year in the city, instead of taking me back home to the country. It would be a one bedroom apartment, and my rule would be I would want free run of the entire thing. Other...

    I'm done! (Just celebrating!)

I turned in my final draft of my Master's thesis today. So relieved to be done. I feel like I could be doing binkies. This has consumed my life for the past few months (just ask Ms. Tippy, who has had to share me with countless stacks of books and articles). As of tonight, my desk is clean, my...

    Copious Cardboard Consumption

So, Ms. Tippy has always had toilet paper tubes and cardboard strewn around the room. She's never really given a fluff that they're there. Sometimes she'd go for the cardboard pieces, but she'd leave the toilet paper tubes alone. In the past week, she has discovered them (whoa, flying...

    Bunny had a bad dream

This shouldn't be cute, but it is. A few minutes ago, Q was lying down, fast asleep on the floor under my desk, bunloafed. All of the sudden, her eyes flew open and she thumped! I looked over at her, and like five seconds later, she thumped again, but not very loud. I called over to her and...

Not eating as much hay as usual

Tippy is usually a voracious hay-nommer. Like, refill the hay rack three times a day. Today, there is still hay left in it and I've been out all day. Not normal for her. She's seeming like herself, but any reason why she wouldn't be eating hay like usual?

    Yerba Mate

I left my mug of yerba mate tea sitting on the desk for all of 10 seconds while I went to put in my contacts. Figured it was safe because the monster has never shown much interest in tea before, plus, she was fast asleep in her cardboard box. I got back after just a few short seconds, and she...
