    My new addition

After searching for over a month, I finally found what I'd been looking for and she happened to be set up right next to us at the show yesterday!! Tickled pink for sure. So, I introduce Lilly. 10 week old broken black ELOP doe. :biggrin2: Me and Lilly! Happy belated Birthday to me! :D...

    Rabbit show Sunday

Okay, now I'm pretty excited for the rabbit show on Sunday. Not as nervous as I was before, but I'm sure that will come back to haunt me on Sunday morning when we're checking in. We're meeting a good friend and fellow Flemish breeder there today and staying in a hotel so we don't have to...

    We did it :)

And it went FANTASTIC!! My son had a 4-H meeting Monday evening and he had a presentation. He'd picked doing it on Hope and already had stuff written up on her breed, etc... So I asked a good rabbit breeder friend of mine and she said she didn't see a problem w/ taking her and her kits away...

Showing my bun for the first time

This is probably stupid, but it's how I think (blame the titanium in my head!) After going to my first rabbit show and watching "my" breed represent on the table and listening to what the judges had to say about each and every single one put up there. I'm SUPER nervous about what the judge...

Kits' eyes don't want to stay open

Hope's kits were 3 wks old yesterday. It seemed that all six had BOTH eyes open during that 2 wk old period. But now I've got 2 that have trouble keeping one of their eyes open. Everyday I wetthemand gently open and everything looks normal, there's no matt, eye goobers or anything. Eyelashes...

    Hope getting annoyed

Hope's kits are 15 days old and starting to explore more and more. She's starting to find it very annoying that they can move about on their own and find the spigot if need be in HER part of the cage. She guards the opening from the nestbox/bedroom and HER part of the cage to keep them in! LOL...

LOL... 15 day old Flemish monster kit.... LOL

Just had to share, as I can't stop laughing about it!!! :biggrin2: I just got grunted at, boxed atand told "pffft" multiple times by my favorite little buck of the litter!! OMG, it was hilarious! He'sa little turd, but oh so cute!!!! After that he binky'd and then got the zoomies and had...

Going to my first rabbit show Saturday

I'm not going to be showing yet, but will be there to help Hope's breeder (her full sister is being shown) and to watch, look at bunnies and learn. Do people typically bring sale bunnies to a show? I'm afraid I'm going to come home w/ a car load of buns if that's the case... UGH... My...

Daisy (Guinea Piggy) and Hope (Flemish)

I just had to take pics for the first time they met. It was really noneventful. They sniffed each other and then pretty much ignored each other. Size difference. hehe Hope sniffing Daisy Mae. Daisy Mae on her tippy toes to sniff Hope. :D Hope you enjoyed the pics.

Taking bun away from home to socialize?

I wasn't sure where to put this question, hope it's in the right spot. If it's not I'm sure the Mods will move it for me. :) As you can see I have a large bun bun and she attracts a lot of attention just by sharing her photos on my phone. Most didn't know there were breeds of bunnies that...

    Handling the kits

Howdy! As you may have seen, I have my first litter of kits out of a young doe I've had and bonded w/ in the last few months. I want to start handling them as soon as possible to get them used to it and make them good bunny citizens. But when should that be? I don't want to make her mad...

I've got my first litter of kits... yay

:biggrin2::biggrin::biggrin2: Pretty happy!! This was her first time and mine and I'm tickled pink... well dark gray... lol She had 9, lost 2 and the remaining 7 are fat, healthy and very wiggly. I think that's very good for her first litter. I was very impressed w/ her crazy good fur...

    What smallish breed???

Don't get me wrong. I love my Flemish doe to bits, and the reason I picked that breed is because of size and temperment and the fact that there aren't a whole lot of them around here at shows. My son is in 4-H and he'll have the only Flemish being shown. I'm showing her in the open show at the...

    Hello from muddy central Iowa

Good morning everyone! I'm happy to be here. I'm new to bunnies and am enjoying my venture so far. My Flemish doe, Hope, is due today (the nice looking bun bun in my avatar!) I'm so hoping she took, as those last 31 days seemed like FOREVER! She spent about an hour nest building an hour ago and...
