    New to Bonding Rabbits

She is spayed and luckily they're eating the same thing. What I was told at the shelter was that 5% of buns can have love at first sight and bond right away - and that's what they think happened with these two. I'm keeping a close eye on them and do seperate them - but they seem happiest...

    New to Bonding Rabbits

Well I was able to keep and eye on them today so they got to stay together the entire day, which made them very happy. I didn't see one tiff, they act like best buds. I had them in their cage a lot and in an xpen in another room - they do excellent both places. I will post pictures in a few...

    New to Bonding Rabbits

I have a 1 year old neutered Angora Buck. I brought him to a local rabbit rescue to pick out a friend earlier in the week. The first night we went I picked a small female rabbit with the neatest cage because that was what I was hoping for. :) He met the female Rabbit and they did quite well...

    Adding a new bun?

Thanks for the advice. I guess Ive always heard smaller rabbits were more skiddish - I wasn't sure if there was truth to that. I want the rabbit to be a good match for Jacob but also a rabbit I'd like. :) Hopefully we can agree. ;)

    Adding a new bun?

I do feed veggies. I will cut back on pellets - thanks!! So which is a better fit for me? A Mini lop or holland lop? I'd like a rabbit this small but not skiddish - and tolerates being held some.

    Adding a new bun?

Thank you all so much for your help. I'm really hoping that things will work out and that Jacob will have a friend! He doesn't weigh much, just looks really big because of all his hair. I'm meeting his possible housemate this weekend. I currently feed Jacob 1/4 cup pellets in the am and...

    Adding a new bun?

I guess the only downside I'm looking at is that there is always the possibility that once she is fixed there is the chance they won't bond. I don't know a lot about Holland Lops, but I do know the buns parents are very small, right around 2 pounds. I was hoping she wouldn't be quite as messy...

    Adding a new bun?

OK good to know. The doe is only 8 weeks so she won't be altered for a little while - my buck is neutered.

    Adding a new bun?

I hope this is the right place to post this. I have a 1 year old Angora Buck - VERY docile - probably 4-5 lbs. I was thinking about getting a Holland Lop Doe and housing her next to him - she is only 2 months old. Over time can I try to bond them? She will only be 2 lbs when fully grown, is...

    Best Litter Box for Angora

He has very clean, normal poos. I plan on composting some of the poop with chicken poop - I can't just scatter it, my dogs would eat it right away!

    Best Litter Box for Angora

What is the best litter box to use with a long haired rabbit. Do I get something that allows the poop and urine to fall through like this: http://www.bassequipment.com/Cages/Potty+Box/default.aspx Or do I get one with a screen where the poop stays on tops and the urine underneath? LIke...

Long Haired Rabbits and keeping cage clean

Thanks for the tips! I've been training him to use the litter-box so I've just been throwing the hay in there - a hay rack would be good! The litter-box does have a grate, although it's not the best one because poop can't fall through it. It's not really the poop that creates the mess, just...

Long Haired Rabbits and keeping cage clean

haha, I know I know. I love his hair, so it's staying. :)

Long Haired Rabbits and keeping cage clean

This may be impossible, but I thought I'd ask. I have a 1 year old English Angora, of course he is quite the fuzzy thing. When he sits in his litter box eating hay he also gets covered in it and then tracks it everywhere. Any possible way to avoid this or help with this? I'm constantly...

    Where to buy coroplast?

So I finally found some! I went to a large scale art supply store in Alanta. It cost be $21 for a 4x8 or 4x10. Glad to finally have found it! I went to several Home Depors and the employees helped me search all over, but no luck. Looks like I'll be making a cage tonight!

    A Few Questions..

I recommend a NIC cage, I put one together the other night in about 1 hour for 1 rabbit. It's really easy for them to have a second level in it, great for 1 bunny - plus it was VERY inexpensive. It would be a lot less expensive than that WARE cage, and the bun would be happier.

    Where to buy coroplast?

I've been to 2 home depots and no luck. I'm going to try some printing stores. I had no idea it would be so hard to find!
