    VPI Insurance

I'm about to file a claim with VPI for a $1300 surgery. (Ouch!) It's the first time that I'll be filing a claim and am just looking for feedback from those who have done so before--they boast that they get you 90% back, but is that really realistic? Agreeing to the surgery was due in huge...

    Weird Spot on Eye?

Hi guys... I'm relatively new to bunnies, so I haven't yet found a competent vet in my area...I'm calling around as we speak and am trying to get an appointment ASAP with the VERY FEW vets who have been recommended to me, but I'd also like to get input here. The patient is a...

    Insurance?

Myia09 wrote: It's not that I didn't want it, just wanted to see if there were other options out there. :) I called and got my bun signed up....$12 a month is totally worth it to me, especially since the rabbit vets in my area are pretty pricey.

    Insurance?

I could have sworn that there was a listing of all the companies that offer rabbit insurance somewhere on this site, but I can't find it. And google searches are turning up mostly UK results. I'm in the US...are there companies aside from VPI who offer rabbit or "exotic pet" insurance?

    Keeping the smell down?

delusional wrote: Like I said, it's not an unpleasant smell, but there is A smell. Very clear, I know, sorry! I actually can't even use air freshener because I'm allergic to artificial scents, but I could heat essential oils or something. Perhaps that's just what I'll have to do.

    Keeping the smell down?

Hi all, My bunny's cage is in the room next to my bedroom (what was originally designed as a walk-in closet but is now a small office with a desk, spare bed, and the 3x5 NIC cage) but the door between them is almost always open. Unfortunately, I've started to notice that my room is smelling...

So I've got the pee part, how about the poop?

Thanks all, I thought it might be a baby/territory thing as well. She has only been here for just over a week now, so everything is still new to her. She is only allowed to explore two rooms right now...I want her litterbox habits to be more solid and for her to become a little more confident...

So I've got the pee part, how about the poop?

Hi all! Sorry, back again with a new bunny owner question. The bun in question is a ~9 week old Checkered giant mix. VERY friendly, very smart, isn't at all afraid of me, the cat, or being picked up. Most of the day she is in a 2x5 (by three high) NIC cage, and gets to run around when I'm...

What is hot for a bunny?

Hi all, new bunny owner with more questions every day. What's considered hot for a bunny? What are the signs of overheating/getting too warm? When should I break out the chilled tiles? Are we talking 70? 80? Bunny is not in direct sunlight, of course, but it still gets warm in the house...

    Chewing on Books?

I've been looking through a lot of bunny pictures and noticed that a lot of people give their bunnies phonebooks to chew on and destroy. When out and about in my room, my bunny gravitates towards my book shelf and starts to nibble...so she's definitely interested in them.. But are they...

    Chickens??

Sorry for your loss. I'm willing to bet that it was a bird. I lost one of my full grown ducks (about 8lbs) to a hawk this winter. She was just completely gone except for a few feathers, and the only way I knew it was a hawk is because when I walked out to lock up for dinner the hawk was...

    Aggressive Bunny

Thank you both! I will definitely be more assertive with her if she tries it again, although hopefully she won't! Otherwise, she is a complete doll. This morning when I opened up her cage she stopped for some cuddles before sprinting around the room, which she did for a good 45 minutes...

    Aggressive Bunny

Hi everyone, I'm very new to bunnies...as in, I've had my first bun for exactly two days now! I've been doing lots of research, but am still going to have lots of questions, so bear with me. I have an eight week old Checkered Giant female. She was the friendliest of the bunch when I...

    Poulin Feed?

The bunny will be eight weeks, and will be getting spayed/neutered once it's of age. Definitely a pet bunny.

    Poulin Feed?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the bunny world, so hopefully you will all take pity on me! I'm bringing a Checkered Giant home within the next few days, and will obviously need to find something to feed it! (I only say "it" because I haven't picked out my specific bunny yet, so no specific sex! :))...
