    Rabbits with cats

It’s been a couple months since my bunny, Shadow, passed away, and I’m beginning to feel ready to bring a new bun into my heart & home. I’ve also wanted a cat, but was leery of bringing a cat home with an older bunny. Now I’m thinking I should get a bunny and a cat at the same time. Can anyone...

    Shadow

Binky free my sweet Shadow girl. Eight years just wasn’t enough time with your sweet soul. We’ll have to catch up again on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Rabbit won't drink on her own. Suggestions?

Well, last night I caught Shadow drinking the water on the plate after she finished her parsley :) She still hasn't touched her water bottle, but it's possible she drank a bit out of the crock last night, too. I still brought her in to the vet today, just so they could check her out. Shadow...

Rabbit won't drink on her own. Suggestions?

If she was drinking something from her water bottle, I'd agree that maybe she's getting enough water from the watered down food and soaked parsley. I'm just concerned that she hasn't touched her water bottle since Thursday. I've cleaned it out and given fresh water every day to try tempting her...

Rabbit won't drink on her own. Suggestions?

I rarely give Shadow fruits, and she only gets a few nibbles of apple or banana when she does. Parsley is the only leafy green she's ever liked, so I'm keeping some soaking in a bowl of water to feed her bit by bit. When I have to syringe feed her anything, I put the tip in her mouth sideways...

Rabbit won't drink on her own. Suggestions?

To start at the beginning, I brought Shadow to the vet on Friday because she wasn't drinking her water at all, was hardly eating anything for the past day, and had almost no deposits in her litter box over the past 24 hours. She wasn't acting lethargic, but her activity level was a little less...

Well, he lives in the bathroom now...

Oh my goodness, he looks like a twin to my girl, Shadow! My daughter saw the pics on the computer screen and asked where I took Shadow, because that's not our bathroom, lol! Obviously, I think your bun is just adorable ;)

How many rabbits do you currently have?

I have one, but I want another one terribly. Unfortuantely, I don't have the space for another bunny house. When I got Shadow, there was just her and one littermate left. I still kick myself for not taking them both.

Tell us the top 2 things U didn't know about rabbits...

I had no idea that a rabbit could "purr" or how important it was to have females (especially) spayed for health reasons.

Sorry, that posted twice for some reason.

My bed has become a nest

Shadow LOVES to bunch up all the throw blankets we have in the living room (her room). No matter where those blankets are, she pulls them to the floor and digs around in them like it's just the greatest thing in the world!

Fraggles won't stay off the new couch!

You should count your lucky stars that all she wants to do is lay on it. Shadow takes every opportunity to sneak up on our couch and pee on it. I agree with the other post - pictures please!

    nose bumping

This means a few things when it comes from my bunny. Sometimes it means she wants attention, sometimes she's telling me to move out of her way, and sometimes she's just being sassy.

    Kaytee Timothy Complete

I've been feeding Timothy complete for about a year now. When I bought a couple more bags recently I noticed that it changed, so I mixed it in with what I had left of the "old" formula. So far, so good! She cleans her dish every time I fill it. She's always been a little piggy, though :)

avoids hardwood floors at all costs

My girl won't go near our kitchen or bathroom floors (both linoleum). She's neer had a traumatic experience with it,she just never liked it from the first time she tried going in the kitchen. I think it's because she can't make a quick escape on the slippery surface in case she feels...

    My bunny does not trance

I've never been able to clip Shadow's nails (I bring her in to have a pro do it instead), but a lot of people have had success with the "bunny burrito" for nail clipping. You just wrap your bunny securely in a towel or small blanket and pull one paw at a time out of the wrapping to clip the...

    Sassy bunny!

I'm thinking it's probably territorial, too, so I've decided to not try to keep her off the couch. If it smells like her (fur, body, etc, NOT pee), maybe she won't do it any more. Maybe that spot, or even my foot, smelled repulsive to her and she needed to make it smell "right". I think she...

    Sassy bunny!

My rabbit, Shadow, used to be terrible about peeing on our couch. First the old one, then the new one. After a while, and lots of shooing her off, she seemed to stop. She hadn't peed on the couch in several months, and we got to the point that we could trust her to come up and sit by us or lay...

    Banana ice cream

I got a recipe from a friend of mine to make guilt-free banana "ice cream". It's actually just bananas. You peel & slice a few bananas, freeze the pieces, thenthrow them in a blender. It comes out the consistency of soft serve ice cream, or you can put it in the freezer to get the consistency of...
