Southern CA Rescue losing its space, 44 rabbits at risk!

MiniLopHop wrote: Our bunnies are THE cutest, but then again I am a little bit biased :biggrin2: Ok so as far as the east coast goes, I know for sure that no one has volunteered to transport animals THAT far. I also am not sure what our organization's policy is on "shipping" animals...

Southern CA Rescue losing its space, 44 rabbits at risk!

believe me I understand where you're coming from. I had a flemish giant; he passed away about nine months ago. He was only 8 months old. But boy did that bunny eat! Right now I have 2 dwarfs but I myself am not working right now, it's just the honey bringing home the bacon. I keep my...

Southern CA Rescue losing its space, 44 rabbits at risk!

Aaah, I see you've fallen for Wiley!! She and Bandita were abandoned in our shelter parking lot. Boy did she take some wrangling in!! They are both very sweet and good natured, especially considering the way they arrived. They are quiet and seem more interested in soaking up the atmosphere...

Southern CA Rescue losing its space, 44 rabbits at risk!

Yes, this is very unfortunate and heartbreaking news. I am a volunteer with Zooh Corner. I clean cages twice a week (at least!) and have become quite attached to these poor homeless bunnies in a short time. It simply breaks my heart. The fate of these rabbits has been keeping me awake at...

Should my sick indoor bunny get more warmth??

So right now I am nursing little Nibbler, my 2.5 lb dwarf, who has some sort of abcess/infection on the right side of his face. He's on antibiotics and painkillers and we are syringe feeding him for a few days. He lives in a 4x4 xpen and I've given him a couple hidey-boxes but he seems...

Is there a repellent spray for bunnies similar to those for cats/dogs?

Is there any kind of repellent spray I can use to keep/discourage my bunny from peeing and pooping in a certain area? My problem is this: I have a dwarf and a giant. When the dwarf gets play time, the giant gets locked up in his cage but is still in the same room with the dwarf. My little...

HELP! Clipped nail too close to quick, now it's bleeding!

So I was just giving Nibbler a little claw trim. I did his front nails just fine because his claws are clear and seethrough. However, his hind claw nails are black and it is hard to see the quick. Well, I did the unthinkable and clipped it too close, now he's bleeding. I cleaned his nail...

Bactine and bunnies-is it safe to swallow?

SILLY ME!!! Well, I imagine bactine is still a good germ killer but for future incidents I shall buy betadine. And I have been using the ointment, not the cream...

Bactine and bunnies-is it safe to swallow?

I was told to use bactine, instead of peroxide, in another thread here. Nibbler seems to be healing along well though. The actual wound is clean and pus free. What I thought was pus I think was actually just old neosporin that accumulated.

Bactine and bunnies-is it safe to swallow?

So I posted a pic of my bunny's cut lip the other day, and was informed that peroxide was bad for rabbits and instead to use bactine to rinse out his wound. I got some bactine the other day, along with a little medicine syringe-thingy. I squirted what amounted to about 2 peas worth of bactine...

    Home remedies for Malloclusion?

Try going to your local pet store to see if anyone there has any experience in trimming teeth. Chances are you will find someone who does and would be willing to do it for you a few times for a small fee. They could sort of teach you how to do it yourself. I had a bunny with the same problem...

How should I treat Nibbler's owie?

Ok so I went to rite aid this afternoon and got a bottle of bactine. I also got a little medicine syringe to inject it, but when I went to do this 1. I noticed that he has this white, cheesy like substance up in the crack between his gums and lip, should I clean this off or is that supposed...

finally, an affordable CHEAP vet that does bunny neutering/spaying!!!!

When I called to confirm the cost, they said they perform the surgery Monday through Friday. I must admit I did not ask for the price of spaying, since I do not have girls, but I assume the cost to be comparable to the low price of neutering.
