HELP! Rabbit is having sneezing fit with mucous

I have no idea if the tube was in after surgery, however I don’t think it would have been, they are a very rabbit savvy vet. I only thought maybe the tube, as I had seen other things in threads of buns choking, where the flap that covers their lungs from the esophagus doesnt close properly, and...

HELP! Rabbit is having sneezing fit with mucous

Hmmm, that’s where we are a bit stuck. I think we will try and get a hay feeder, so that he can’t just shove his head into the hay

HELP! Rabbit is having sneezing fit with mucous

Whenever he chokes, it’s always when he gets a fresh pile of hay ie litter box change. I’ve never seen him choke on grass, and he eats everything else normally. The hay we get him and our other buns is pasture hay, from our local rural supplies. It doesn’t happen every time he gets fresh hay...

HELP! Rabbit is having sneezing fit with mucous

So since I first posted this thread, my bunny has had the same thing multiple times since then, and it turns out that it is choking. We are not sure whats causing it, as it is not everytime he eats, only when he gets fresh hay. We think maybe he is just a bit of a piggy bunny.

    Bunny won’t eat after spay

All buns are different after surgeries. I got two girls spayed a few weeks ago. One started eating like normal as soon as we got home, the other needed to be critical care fed. If you don’t have any of that on hand right now, mush up some pellets with water, and make it into a paste, and then...

    BONDING HELP!!!

I should say, with the xpen, as they are outside bunnies, I can’t leave them together overnight in the xpen, so each night they are put into each others hutches.

    BONDING HELP!!!

No, so we have the big hutch and run that is huge, and our male moved out of there at the very end of June. It has since been wiped down with vinegar. We currently have two hutches on our deck/patio, that since then they have been switching in ie the male stays in one and the girls the other and...

    BONDING HELP!!!

Hi guys!! So at the moment I am trying to bond my three mini-lops; a male 1y 1m and two girls 7m. All are neutered. They are all outside rabbits. Our male we got first, we got him desexed at 6m and then bought a huge shed and run as we intended to adopt a girl bunny that was at our local rspca...

    Spay

Hi there!!! Hopefully you see this in time, we’ve found with all our buns that have been spayed and neutered; if they are fed critical care once they have woken up out of anaesthetic, and then once more a few hours later, and then have pain medication for the next three days, they recover really...

    Outdoor rabbits

We must our bunnies ears in summer time with a water bottle, that always seems to help :)

    Swollen eyebrows?

Moulting pattern can change simply just depending on season or how the bun is grooming

Bunny has these specks on his fur

Good luck to you too!!! Please still let me know what your vet says about them though!

Bunny has these specks on his fur

It does suck :/ The vet was okay to do it over the phone though, so we will pick up some revolution, treat all three buns, and then do it as a preventative quarterly, at the change of season.

    Swollen eyebrows?

Here’s a photo of what I mean for reference.

    Swollen eyebrows?

I am no expert by any means, but to me, in the photo it just looks like a moulting pattern. Don’t take my word for it though, in case it is something serious. If it is swollen, I would definitely take bun to the vet. However as I say, my bun is a sable point, and whenever he moults it’s always...

Anyone looking to rehome a boy? - Melb/Australia

Good luck bonding them together!!! Freedom for farmed rabbits also has a heap of bunnies, and they are in Melbourne too. It’s worth giving them a call if this bond doesn’t work out!

Bunny has these specks on his fur

Unfortunately we think they are mites :( We think they probably came from the hay. We rung our vet today and completely explained to them what was on my bun. They have told us to do three treatments of puppy and kitten revolution; telling us that what it treats on rabbits covers a few different...

Bunny has these specks on his fur

Bunny has these specks on his fur

Hmmm I will look at him again in the morning then. Please still update me on what your vet says to you though!

Bunny has these specks on his fur

Hmmm, that’s interesting because my bunny is currently moulting aswell. Maybe it’s something to do with that?? I have tried to look closely, but they just look like specks to me. Please let me know what happens at the vet!
