I currently have 1 horse named Wildfire. He is my world and I love him more than anything. He was abused before I got him and he came to me very untrusting and he had no spirit. For his first month with me, he never ran or interacted with the other horses at the farm. He would just stand in the mud and watch. After that month I moved him to a 20 acre farm with 10 other horses (the first place was only a couple acres and had only 2 other horses in his pasture). Within minutes of me turning him out into the 20 acres he took off running and all the other horses ran alongside him. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
That was almost exactly 2 years ago. Now, he is SO loving and loves hugs (and if i forget to hug him hello or goodbye he will initiate it by putting his head on my shoulder). He loves his friends at the farm and he has quite the sense of humor now. I knew next to nothing about horses when I got him, so we've been learning together. I had to learn how to train and he had to learn how to trust. And through that process we both learned alot about love.
I am now hoping to adopt another horse. There is one up for adoption that was recently rescued from a hoarder. Her and 7 other horses were being starved to death. I am really really hoping to be able to get her!! I've been wanting to get another for awhile, but I felt guilty and like it would make Wildfire sad if he saw me with another horse. But I really think this would be a good decision. And Wildfire knows he will always be my beautiful baby boy. :hearts:

Great story, I hope you are able to rescue another needy horse (there are so many) . Please keep us posted.

Pictures would be great ;)

Well...looks like I won't be getting another horse which I am really bummed about. I had 2 potential options as far as where I would keep her and both fell through. My first choice was where I board Wildfire. But then the owner told me they are maxed out on space. My other option was if my boyfriend was able to get this particular property that he was looking at. If he got it I was hoping to move in with him and just have both horses with us (and of course my other animals too). Unfortunately he didn't get that one and instead is moving even farther away from me.
There is always other boarding places but the only way I am going to move Wildfire is if it's to stay with me. And it wouldn't make sense to have 2 horses on 2 different properties. Since I work I wouldn't be able to spend enough time with each horse if they were at 2 different places.
So i've been in a funk the past couple of days and it really really sucks.

As requested, pictures of my of my beautiful baby boy:
