I have set up 2 different cages for Flynn, due to the fact we have lots of family visiting this summer and they do not want to sleep in the same room as the rabbit. Today I was trying to get him use to his other home, and when I finally put him back into his normal home he seemed so happy. He ran around throwing his toys and going and doing everything in there. Is it too hard on him to be moved like that? Here are pics of his homes..the crate home has more in it when he is there, I just move his stuff with him.

I noticed today that he expressed his unhappiness of me moving his food bowl somewhere else by urinating in the spot it was, so I moved it back and no problems since, he had been accident free for 5 days.

If you're gonna move him into another and leave him for some time, that's okay. Changing him back and forth multiple times will cause problems as they are creatures of habit and like things to be the same all the time. Might be okay with some, but some of ours don't do well with any change and act out, the little brats.

Thanks, that must be the flaw in my plan. I wanted to only put him into the smaller cage at night because that is when he will annoy visitors. He would be fine to spend the day in his normal home because we don't need that room during the day. He just seemed so ecstatic to be back in his home..lol..he was being so adorable running around and playing with everything, I hate to stress him out...if this does more harm then the people will have to deal with it. He is use to the room with the 2 nd cage because he spends a few hours a day in there while we are playing.

I think for a short period of time, he will be okay switching back and forth at night.

Jamestown478,
That will be fine because he will be in each place long enough to get into a routine. In fact, a lot of people do that.

Once it's in her routine, probably. But it might take her a while to feel safe at both places because things keep changing on her.

I always forget that some people go home on the weekends. I live four and a half hours away from my parents, so I only got to go home on breaks. :p

I wonder if it might help if you have a blanket or something that has the scent that you can move between the two homes as well. Maybe that would lessen the territorial markings and help Rascal feel more comfortable going between the two homes.
