Oh, that's so awful. There may besomething your vet can do. Maybe they can workout a paymentplan, or know of another vet who would.

Also, I hate to say this, but you might go back into your post and change the color of the text, its really hard to read.

Thnks everyone. Me and my mom are heading out tothe vets now. I hope they will do some kind of payment plan but I thinkyou have to up frount(or thats what my mom thinks) I will let you allknow how it goes.

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. Now that she has a cast on, I would not worry about bathing her in the future. By and large, it is not necessary to bathe bunnies. She appears to be quite clean.

Do hope some economic arrangements can be reached, if not with your current vet, another one, or some rescue center, spca, ect may be able to provide you with assistance. Don't euthanize too quickly as buns with broken limbs do make it, and so do buns with missing limbs.

Most certainly agree with what Buck has mentioned! I have rabbits very successfully heal with a break in the leg.

Aww, Poor Punkin!

Get it right out of your head that you'll have to put the baby to sleep. She'll be just fine.

If you can get some Comfrey, do so and give it to her. It's said tospeed up the natural healing process with regards to bones. It also issaid to relax buns.

If you can find some Marigold, that's also good for healing wounds andhelping with strains. (I know it's a break, not a strain, but itcouldn't hurt.)

If you have any NutriCal, I'd give her an inch of that a day to boost her immune system.

I won't buy that she'll be anything but fine. I'm so sorry this happened, DuncanTheDutch.

I totally agree with buck also!

I know a person that has a bun with just 3 legs due to a birthdefect.... the bun compensates quite well, and gets along just as wellas the buns with all their limbs intact.

I also know of a person with a rabbit that had a broken leg.... it'sleg was twisted horribly, and didnt set right, so now is virtuallyuseless. But the bun appears to do very well with it's disability....they are wonderfully resilient creatures.

The emergency vet said that she might need a pin or screw in order for the bone to heal properly.

But its good to know that everyone thinks she will be okay even if it cant be fixed properly.

Arwin is going to be just fine. Icompletely agree with what everyone has said. She can adapt if need be.Poor girl. I will keep you and Arwin in my prayers.

Just a thought......We recently needed money that we did not have. Idecided that the best solution was to apply for a credit card that hadno interest for 1 year, that way we could make payments.

Ok here is what happened.

Ipacked her a bag of stuff she likes her hay, pellets, treats, ect... I wraped her up in a clean towel and off we go.

When we got there, there was nobody there(thank goodness)thedoc saw us right away. She had taken Arwin back to get some x-rays. Wewaited like 20 min. When she came out the doc explained to us its in areally bad place. They left the cast on.

She recommened to not get her spayed in a week. We agreed

She was talking to us and was explaining she wanted to leave the caston and see if the bone mends together on its own. Which we werethankful for because of our money situation.

Doc told us to bring her back next friday for a check up and they willtake some more x-rays from there. Then we go back one other time foranother. Afetr that she will be going on vacation and another vet willcheck her.

when she gets back from vacation we bring her in for her last check up.Then we will decide if she want to do surgery or not. She said it couldmend together with the cast holding it together but there is a possiblechance it wont. We will see......

She told us cleaness is a big issue here. We need to make sure she hasa clean litterpan all the time, fresh towls, no movement. Duncan has tobe kept seperated from her intill she is fully healed.

This will take about 3 weeks.

Me and mom got to bring her home. We made sure she was compfortable andI laid down beside her. We went to sleep I woke up peridiocly(sp?) tocheck on her.

I just woke up.

So that has been most of my day with this.
