Ha, Mike Scone, I thought it would be nice to have a name with Min in it for the girly but Paul made faces at every name I suggested :D

Nela, yes, Maximus has blue-gray eyes! So pretty. Does anyone know if they'll stay that color or turn brown? Might be an odd question but his eyes are the color of newborn babies' eyes and they turn color so who knows? Sister has brown eyes. And yes lots of smooching and snoofling has been going on. If you can believe it, Paul beat me to the snoofling! He's nearly as transfixed by the babies as I am!

Kerensa has been our little baby for almost a year now and is feeling rather needy now. Hilarious how gigantic she looks in comparison. She's a hair under 2 pounds so certainly not a big rabbit. We always thought she was so little and babyish (we referred to her as "The Baby" until these tiny ones traipsed onto the scene). Now she's Big Baby!

They're so light weight that when we have them out of their cage on the couch they zoom around more like ratties than bunnies. Maximus can scale nearly vertical sides and they like sitting on shoulders (something Tallulah was also fond of). We love our babies!

They are so cute!!! Congrats on the new babies! I love rex fur! The breeder I got my holland lop from breeds mini rexes so when they are both fixed I think I will ask if he has any avaliable for adoption to a pet home! lol He had a beautiful seal point baby when I got smokey... lol

Ok so his ears are brown. Also VERY OLD picture but easiest one to find of him.

Oh yes, the adorable Gabriel! It looks like his fur is a bit darker too. Maxie's fur is light brown. It looks kind of agouti around his eyes.

I don't think they will change back. Any litter of baby rabbits I have had always kept the same eye colour after they opened their eyes.

I just checked on the babies and Maximus had about 5 poopies stuck to his butt region. They looked like normal poops (round) but were a little sticky hence them sticking to him. We left the Petco box in the cage (they love to hop on it) and there are some poopies mashed onto the box. Since the little ones are only 6 weeks old I'm being very vigilant for digestive problems. We haven't been bothering them too much (though they love attention), they have the box to hide in, unlimited clean water and more importantly unlimited timothy hay, and unlimited timothy pellets. No veggies or anything. Hopefully this is just temporary and he'll be back to normal soon. Is there anything else I can do for him? He's acting normal and happy. Trying not to worry too much, I know they're in better hands with me than with a lot of inexperienced rabbit owners.

Okay I went to pick the poops off Maximus and only 1 was left. It was very easy to pick off and his butt looks completely clean because the poops were just a little soft. I'm telling myself it's just because of the change in location (home->pet store->our home) and the change in food. Sincerely trying not to worry but I am a worrier by nature and these are young babies! One of the reasons I wanted to get them to begin with was that they were so young and I was afraid someone who didn't know bunnies would buy them and they'd get sick and the owners wouldn't know what to do.

I'm having PTSD-like flashbacks to Tallulah and the baby cockatiels last summer!

We will pick up some Benebac at Petco tonight to have on hand. If the soft poops continue I will make a thread in the Infirmary. Be healthy, babies!

That's encouraging, Alicia! I know not all young babies are doomed but something that wouldn't worry me much in an adult bunny does worry me in a little bitty one.

It's been a few hours now and Max is clean butted. No signs of mashed or soft poop anywhere. Hopefully it was a one off and he doesn't keep doing it! I had a nap (slept little last night and had a long weird day) so will be observing him now to see how he acts. He was a lot more still this afternoon than normal (flopping around, loafing, etc) as usually he's zipping around everywhere, but I reminded myself that I've only seen him in the evenings and maybe he just takes it easy during the day. We got them on Sunday night and yesterday I didn't get home until 7 pm. He seems feistier in the few minutes I've been up from my nap. Keep being hyper, Maximus!

So, I have Fiesta dishes. Love them! For Christmas my mom gave my husband and I Fiesta mugs: plum for me, turquoise for him. The babies are quite small. It had to be done.

Prepare for....

MUGSHOTS! Because they are criminally cute :D

I posted this in the name vote thread too. We decided on Mathilde for Maximus's sister. It's German. It's pronounced slightly different from Mathilde in German but if you said it in English it sounds like Matilda. Mathilde is a name I've loved for years but the spelling/pronunciation issue would deter me from giving it to a child but the bunny doesn't mind!

So we have Maximus Hopp and Mathilde Hopp. Couldn't be "hopp"ier!
