Kaytee < Oxbow!

I just got my bunny back after my mom had her for 2 years and I went to the pet store to buy hay. I'd always bought Kaytee Timothy hay because it was cheap and I didn't have much money. Even when my store started stocking Oxbow, which I had heard such great things about, I kept buying Kaytee for the price.

Well they were out of the medium bag I used to get. I reached for the smaller one and noticed several varieties with treats like craisins and dried fruit mixed in with the hay! I was appalled! I couldn't believe they would sell that! I was so disgusted I put down the bag and picked up Oxbow instead.

Even though it's more expensive, I will definitely keep buying Oxbow! I mixed the 2 different hay brands so my bun could adjust and she actually picks out the Oxbow to eat and leaves the Kaytee!

Just my rant/opinions on hay. Sorry if this is old news, like I said I've been out of the rabbit loop for 2 years! Anyone else seen these?

I have seen them too, but I don't buy them. I did get the one with maragolds mixed in, I think that is more appropriate. I soon found buying the little bags from the pet store was too expensive because I'm now up to 4 bunns. A local gardning/feed center has a timothy/orchard grass hay bale 60 pounds for $7. Now I can feel better about giving them lots of hay all over even if a good amount gets soiled.

yeah I thought that was weird, though like MiniLopHop said, I've bought the one with Marigolds. I mixed it with a bale from the feed store. Though Belldandy has taken to not wanting to eat the hay anymore

I bought the Kaytee bag with mangoes in it and separated out the mangoes and I'd feed them as a treat - the hay's still good
