Dear Friends,

My husband and I adopted 2 spayed female rabbits from the Toronto Humane Society 1 year ago.
Their names are Salt and Pepper, and they have a history of being abused by their former owner.
:nope:They ended up in the shelter for approximately 1.5 years before we adopted them. Sadly, due to health reasons, we are no longer able to keep them. :cry2 I am trying to get the word out to see if someone will be willing to give them a loving home before I return them to the shelter as a last resort. :cry4:

To give you some info on the two girls, Salt (gray with a white tail) is very sweet and can be picked up easily. She does have an issue with peeing outside of the litter box, and she drinks quite a large amount of water. We have had this checked out with the veterinarian who was unable to find anything wrong. Other than this, she loves any attention you can give to her.:bunnieskiss Pepper (black with a white nose) is a little more spicy and not as trusting when you first meet her. She is easily frightened at times, and her first instinct is to hit you with her front paws if you approach her too suddenly (but this doesn't hurt). Over the past year, Pepper's trust has greatly grown, and she is very much a sweet girl who loves to be pet.:pet: I know that this would only improve with more time and attention. Pepper is quite diligent in using the litter box.

Salt and Pepper are estimated to be around 4.5 years old and 5 lbs each. They will need space to make up for how they were treated by their previous owner. (They were both living inside a small guinea pig cage for 2 years, with barely enough room to switch places.):craziness Because they are a bonded pair, we will not consider separating them. :bunnyhug:They need someone who will love them and be patient with them as they learn that not all people are scary.

Please help to forward this to your friends. We will include all of the bunny essentials that we have (ie. litter tray, water bottle, etc). If we cannot find a new owner by Saturday, October 30, 2010, we will have to take these adorable girls back to the shelter.:in tears::pleaseplease:

i'll talk to the boyfriend and see if we can maybe foster them for a while (and if it's a yes i doubt they'd leave here lol)... it's not a guarantee though. put an add on kijiji.ca and inform them that you have 2 bunnies to give and you want a question thingy filled out to be considered....

Thank you all who replied. You are all very kind. Mattimeo, I will definitely look up Rabbit Rescue. AquaticRex, I will definitely post an ad in kijiji. Nancy, I will ask my sister if she minds driving to Las Vagas!
Please pray for us....

That's so sad. I wish I had tons of money and more room.

You have to feel sorry for bunnies like this that have been in a home only to end up back at shelter.

Susan:)
