When I first got Magic I thought he was a girl, so his name started as something like Freedom, and then it switched to Velvet Lullaby. :headsmackThen I finally settled on Magic Star because of his colouring: Magic - black, Star - white.

Dallas Jay - he came with the pedigree name of Cliff, so we knew we just had to call him something different. lol. We debated for days on what to name him, and we kind of wanted it to fit with Rowdy, so we ended up with Dallas Jay, aka D.J. We mainly called him Dallas. Around the same time, Alicia lost her boy Dallas, and she always was a fan of our other rabbit Savannah, so it just seemed to fit even more. :)

Rose came with the name, and we liked it. Contemplated naming Dallas, Jack, after the two characters on the Titanic, but my nephew's name is Jack.

Bear, well, ask Shaded. Hehe. I think it was a theme of animals for his litter, and he just got Bear. :) It fits him though. He looks like a polar bear and he stands up like a bear all the time!

Rowdy's pedigree name is Sawyer, but we didn't think that fit him since it's a girly name, haha. So we contemplated what to name him, and that took a while too, and finally we settled on Rowdy. When discussing him with his previous owners/breeders, I use Rowdy in ** < those, or just call him Sawyer, which is slightly confusing lol. Rowdy fits him quite well. :)

Kailua's litter was a beach/water-themed litter, and Kailua is the name of....some body of water somewhere! Lol. So that's how she got named!

:big wink:
How bout we add to that...Dallas I added Jinx Jones because I wanted to call him D.J.

I love reading how our bunners got their names! Here's mine:

Alaska: She is all white with blue eyes, so my bf's daughter and I were tossing around snow/winter type names. Alaska is the one that we liked best. Her name was Snow White when we got her.

Gixxer: My bf races motorcycles, he has a Suzuki GSX-R, they're called "gixxers" for short. Gixxer is a super fast runner so it fits!

Max: Max was named by his previous owner but it fits him perfectly, it didn't feel right to change it. I do call him MaxerMan from time to time.

Takumi: We used to watch an anime show called "Inital D" about car drifting and the main character's name is Takumi Fugiwara. I like the show and love the name.

I worked at a farm and was taking care of the rabbits when I got mine. I wanted to name her Cookie (because of her black and white spots) but there was a goat named Cookie already! Marshmallow it was!

INITIAL D IS SUCH A COOL SHOW!!!!! Takumi is awesome.

Barnaby: (Barnaby Jones) Got the name idea from the show "Frisky Dingo" which we watched a lot before we got Barnaby. One of the characters on the show pretended that his name was "Barnaby Jones" and another character sung a little song about how his best friend was named Barnaby Jones. Barnaby and my other bunny at the time Zeus bonded instantly and we started randomly singing that song and calling Barnaby Barnaby....so Barnaby it was! In another sense I think it fits him because it's kind of an older sounding name and Barnaby is an old soul. He's a very refined gentleman bunny lol.

Ziggy: (Ziggy Stardust) We had a hard time thinking of a new name for him. I kind of wanted to give him a Z name in memory of Zeus because Zeus was a blue bunny and Ziggy is a broken blue. One morning my fiance was listening to the "Ziggy Stardust" song and Ziggy the bunny started going crazy running around the room doing binkies. We took that as a hint and named him Ziggy. I think his name fits him too - he's hyper and active and has an attitude.

Berry: (BerryMelon Amelie) My fiance named her Berrymelon after one of his video game characters...my fiance is a video game designer/artist. BerryMelon the game character is strong and tough but also really girly. We thought it fit Berry well. She's a very girly bunny, and she showed us just how strong she is when she survived and did so well after her stroke last year. Her middle name is Amelie which was her name when we got her. I thought it was a pretty name so kept it as her middle name.

Well at the time we got the bunnies me and my boyfriend agree'd we would each name 1 rabbit. I was starving and couldn't keep my mind on track. He challenged me to use the first thing that came to mind when looking at the rabbit. Thus.... his name is muffin. haha

I didn't plan on naming my rabbit Gimpy but the nick name kind of stuck.

When he was born he couldn't hop like his siblings and kind of just waddled around. So when i'd go to my friends house(it was her rabbit that had babies) I would refer to him as "the gimpy one" and that he was my favorite. Well a few weeks pass and its time to separate all the babies as they are maturing. So my friend's mom calls me up and says "when are you picking up your rabbit". I didn't know I was getting a rabbit but I guess her mom assumed I had agreed to take him since he was my favorite. So a couple days later, after getting some supplies, I went and picked up my new rabbit.

So when he first came home I tried naming him something else but it didn't work out as the nickname "Gimpy" just kind of stuck. So its been 7 years of Gimpyness :D

Button was my first rabbit and he is a French Lop. when I got him at 8 weeks he was already massive. I said to my mum he's as cute as a Button and that stuck!

Bobbin and Thimble I got about a year later and I wanted to carry on the Haberdashery theme. Plus Bobbin bobs his head a lot!

Then came along our accidental babies Toots and Branston. We weren't going to keep them then I accidentally said to my husband when talking about them and he wasn't there ' youknow the one with the white tootsies' and the name stuck. For Branston I was trying to think of black things and Marmite didn't really fit! So Branston pickle it is!!

Mr. Bun Bun: A Holland Lop. Mr. Bun Bun is his full name. He's also called Sir Sable Point, which I rarely use anymore. But I just call him Bun Bun pretty much all the time. I could not com e up with a name at first and it took a while till I could come up with a name. I just called him "bunny bun bun" all the time like "hey, little bun bun!" And I went ahead and officially named him Mr. Bun Bun.

Koga(R.I.P.): A Minirex. Nam ed after my favorite character from the anime, "Inuyasha" and I found the name to be cute. If anyone who's watched the show, would find the name a little off for an adorable little bunny when the character is a wolf demon, but I liked the name anyway. lol

Brinca(R.I.P.): An Eastern Cottontail. Before anyone wants to know why I used to own a wild rabbit, it's a long story I'll share it later.
Anyways, I named her Brinca, cause "brinca" is spanish for "hop!"

Rocko: A Dutch bunny. I named him after the character from the cartoon show. Rocko in the show supposed to be a kangaroo and when rabbits stand on their hind legs, they look like a kangaroo. I also like the name, to me it almost sounds like a rabbit's name.

Chevy - well i guess you could say Im pretty much a chevy girl so thus the name for our beautiful chocolate buck

Beyonce - I got her with this name and it just stuck
Her babies - Athena, Bianca, Clover, Diesel, Ember I got most of these names from you guys :) Diesel was a good fit because chevy is the dad and well chevy diesel trucks you know

Lola - this is chevys mom. My friend lauren named her at the rodeo when i first started showing and it stuck

Rocky - My mom chose this name. His pedigree name is supercharged

Whiskey - her pedigree name is whiskey tom so it stuck. she is supposed to have a litter and i think ill keep the theme going

I cant believe I almost forgot Monster! He is my sweet black buck and no monster at all but that is the great irony of names :)

Got the rabbit for my Gf and I.

My GF loves peanut butter.
Our rabbit has peanut butter colors.
She is... or was small lol

therefore, we named her Peanut. Aka The Nut. lol

Here's a quick pic for reference ( looks just like my avatar!)

Babbitty Rabbitty ~ After reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I made a promise to myself that the next bunny I took in would be named that because it was just so unique.

Willow ~ Again, another book character and with the soft patterned colors willow has, it kinda reminds me of tree bark anyways.

Star ~ I actually didn't name him, the breeder did, and it's obvious why :)

Jabberwocky ~ *Sigh* Again, book inspiration... Well, technically short story/poem inspiration.

Ty ~ This one... I'm actually not to sure on. We were just throwing out names and Ty seemed to fit.

Fiver was originally Saphira after the dragon in the book Eragon.. but it didn't stick for some reason. I knew of the book "Watership Down" so I started calling her that and it just stuck!
Blackie really doesn't have a name, we call her whatever. I "named" her Black Beauty and tried calling her Beauty but that doesn't sound right, so it got swapped to Blackie.

Theodore, because when I picked him up and looked at him nose-to-nose, I couldn't see his little dwarf ears and he looked like a chipmunk.

Oh, and my prior bunny, Kibbles [rip] was the first rabbit I had since moving in with my husband. My husband wanted to call him Stew. We compromised.

Before Kibbles were Benedict and Thumper [rip too :(]. My sister named Thumper (She was 6, lol) and I named Benedict right after seeing Much Ado About Nothing at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. It just seemed like a bunny name.

Really all I did was go to google, search "rabbit names" and started looking threw them. I came across Bazzle and I liked it but it looked funny spelled that way so I switched up the spelling and got Baizel :) I liked the way it looked and sounded and it just fits!

Ahh that is so neat!

I thought I would add the new rabbits that my sister and I have gotten since she posted our other rabbits. So . . .

Apollo - He had this name when we got him and we decided to just keep it because it fits him.

Heather - We got her from Shaded Night who got her from some one else, so I’m not really sure how she got her name. We have thought about changing it because our fair super is named Heather, so it might get confusing come fair time. But so far we haven’t really thought of anything to call her.

Sleet - He came with this name and it fits him, we call him Sleeter also.

Phalix - We originally were calling him Tommy, but we decided as much as it fit him we didn’t really like it. So we decided on Phalix because it is different and unique and rare, and Phalix’s coloring is actually quite rare for Rex I guess. (He is a broken lynx). A cat at a barn my sister works at is also named Phalix.
