Wellwe have another bunn!
One of our neighbours came over today...they had found a bunn wandering the street...it had been cornered by a dog...he managed to grab him and bring him home. They weren't sure ifit was wild or not. They were thinking domestic.

I went over to see what was what...and hello!
Oh gawd but I am a sucker with a capital "S"!

It is an intact Holland lop male...tri-colour!
He is at least 6-9 months if not older...with a lovely personality.
A truly gorgeous little man! :D

So far no one has called and reported him missing...and even though hubby and Iwere keeping an ear out we didn't see anyone looking for him around the neighbourhood.
I called the Humane Society but they have had 6 calls this week alone for rabbits that had been "set free". So we are keeping him here...they have our contact info if the owners call...but they weren't very optimistic.

He is friendly and well cared for...hungry too so we aren't sure how long he has been roaming free...he is quarantined for now.

Hubby named him "Samhain the Lost"...pronounced (sah-win)...it means "November the Lost"...it seems fitting! :)

Danielle :)

Well he has been gone from his home for about 24 hours atleast and no one has put up flyers, called the Humane Society or come looking for him. :(

Hubby and I are going to put some flyers up around the area today...see if that helps.

His nails are well trimmed...he is on the skinny side...snarfled the pellets we gave him like there was no tomorrow. And they weren't yummy ones like Martins...just Oxbow pellets. He doesn't seem to recognize veggies...and barely touched any hay.

I know there is a girl in the neighbourhood who has a rabbit...don't know what it looks like...but she takes it to the park on a leash and lets it go. My neice told me about it. She lets it run and then chases it till they catch it. Apparently it is called exercise. <sigh>
I am going to call my neice ask her what the bunn looks like...maybe this is him...there can only be so many rabbits in our small area.

Surprisingly enough hubby was fine when I broughtthe bunnhome yesterday! lol
I guess it could have something to do with all the bunny kisses he got while he was holding him! :D

He is such a sucker! If he holds a bunn for a while he melts like butter! :D

I agree it would be nice to keep him :) ...he is beautiful...but he would be sad I think without his mom and dad.
We'll keep trying to find his parents! We are working outside today on my gardens...so we'll be able to keep a lookout in the neighbourhood for anyone bunny searching! :)

:)Nope no excitement yet...first we try to find his home...if in a week we have had no luck or contacts...then I will begin my grovelling and whining until hubby caves! lol ;)

He HAS to have a family out there somewhere.
He is beautiful and he seems to have been well cared for...

tell him that as it's the time of samhain and things happen, it would be bad luck to give up the bunny:D

very cute and lucky bunny too!

OMG Dani, he's adorable.

Are you going to try to bond him with one of your other Bunnies?

Need more pictures.

How are the squirrels doing?

Susan:)

Well it's day three and no calls for a lost bunny. :(

We'll see what happens if no one comes to get him!
I'm not making any plans.

The squirrels...good gawd...where do I begin.:pullhair:
They are about 15 weeks old...and a pain in my butt! Big time! <sigh>

We moved them to the carport for overwintering...so first thing in the spring we can acclimatize them and get them back out in the wild! They are like kids whomoved home fromcollege and now they won't move out! lol ;)
They are wilding up nicely...they won't take food from anyone but me...not even Tony!
They put up with me...barely...another month and I will have to wear hockey gear to clean their cage!
I currently look like I went a round with Freddy Kruger...I have lovely slashes across my nose and cheek because Gordo thought I was going to take his almond!:grumpy:
I may lose a finger giving them their walnuts...sheesh! Piggies!

Tell me again why I want to be a rehabber?
I take my course November 6th,7th and 8th...technically I am supposed to be studying now but I just can't cram anymore crap into my head tonight.

Did you know Ontario has 8 species of bats?
Hoarey Bat, Eastern Red, Big brown bat, Little brown bat, Eastern Pipistrelle, silver haired, northern long eared and eastern small footed!
The part on birds is worse...cause I am not fond of birds...it just goes in one ear and out the other. <sigh>

Jeebus...now I'm hijacking my own thread! sheesh

I'm gonna go study...I protest...I really do...but I'm going. But I won't enjoy it...nope not a bit.:disgust:

5 days and no one has called the Humane Society, put up flyers, come looking...NOTHING!

I am having a hardtime seeing what a clever little man he is and knowing no one is busting butt to find him.:grumpy:

He is using his litterbox exclusively now...he is filling out now that he is getting steady water and food.

Man I am getting really ticked off...
If it were me I'd be going door to door and driving the neighbourhood nuts!
EVERYBODY would know if I lost a bunn!

People suck sometimes! :(

He is still here...not a whisper of anyone looking for him.

We are calling the Humane Society on Monday to see where we go from here.

All of our bunnies are rescues. In the last 8 years we have seen numerous ads for "found" bunnies, but not one for a "lost" bunny. There have been two cases where owners went looking for their bunnies, as they were stolen, but those are the only two I know of.
