We think cameron may be pregnant. Just today shesdigging a hole in the corner, lining it with hay, and she rippedalittle fur out. Is she pregnant? how long until she may have kits ifshe is?

Has she been in contact with a male? If so, mostlikely yes, she is pregnant. They usually have them 31 days aftermating, so I would try and figure out when she was with the male todetermine when she will have them.

Also, you need to buy either a nestbox, or put in some kind of cardboard box for her to build a nest in.

You may want to palpate her to find out if shehas "kits" inside of her, follow this link:http://islandgems.net/palpating.html

you may not be able to tell when she'll kindle, she'll probably biuld anest a few days before the pregnancy, or afewhoursbefore, or a week before. be sure to giveher a nest box as soon as possible if you suspect she's trying tobuilld a nest. did you actually see her breed with a buck?

whats werid is.. when Missey was outside.. in thewinter we put straw in there for her and my brother built her a littlehouse.. and in it she made a nest for herself. she even pulled outfur.. and i know she wasnt PG because she was our only bunny at the time

Sounds like she is pregnant. Be sure to place the box in ASAP, and putwhat she has already made into that box. As far as labor, I haven't hadthat experience yet, so I will leave it to someone else.

how do i move the stuff, because, she is layingstretched out over the little nest she made, im afraid shes gonna havethem any minute. :shock:

i tried to put an igloo upside down, and rightside up, but everything i put in there, she pushed it away to the otherside of the cage, and continued building a nest in a corner in theopen, the room is really warm, so they will stay toasty, but she doesntlike the boxes

It's important that you put them into a box, evenif the room is warm, drafts can quckly chill the babies, i thinkthey can just simply die of exposure, i'm not too sure that's truethough. is there no way to build one out of scrap wood?

Definitly put the other kit back into the "nest" she's built, the doe will NOT move the kits herself.

get a real box if you can if not turn the iglooupside down, and pack it with straw, then make a hollow in it, line itwith fur and put the kits in it, then cover them with more fur andplace it in the doe's cage. THEY NEED TO BE IN A BOX OF SOMEKIND. unless your house is almost 100 degrees for the next 10 days theywill NOT "stay toasty".

im really afraid to touch the kits, and the nest,and the bedding piled on them, she has like the perfect nest, hole,hay, fur, lots of bedding on top

how does a box do anything when there deep insidethe bedding, covered on all sides except the top, but thats only afternursing, than alittle after till she buries it again

The kits can move around enough to leave the nest even at this age,they "pop". If they leave the nest, they will die. If they are in anext box they aren't likely to be able to get out of the nest so theywill stay safe and warm right where they belong. A real nest box has alittle lip that the mom can easily get over but that the kits cannot.

They are your babies and you will do as you wish with them. People withexperience have given you excellent advice, I suggest, if you wanthealthy kits that you take their advice.

the nest is about 6 inches deep, they haventgotten out even when the nest was flat on the ground, and now she madeit into a perfect nest tunnel, we have 3!!! there cuddling togethor,and mommas being protective, and she nursed them YEA
