Hey guys...

A really good friend of mine (since high school...so over ten years) rescued a bun from a park today...so naturally, I recommended RO to her! :)

She said that the bun doesn't look well and looks like it has a skin condition, so hopefully she'll join and be able to get this bun help soon!

So far, I've recommended a vet visit, hay and water diet (to recalibrate the bun's gut), and a good type of litter. I tried calling her, but she lives in S. California, so maybe she didn't recognize my area code here in Canada, lol. (I've only called my dad from here, to keep the long distance charges down, lol.)

So...keep fingers and paws crossed that she joins!! :D

Hugs,

Rosie*

Hurray! :)

It's always nice to hear of people rescuing buns in need. I hope she joins!

Not much more news about the bun today...

She's not getting directly in touch with me about it, which is okay (she's really busy, so only has time to post things on Facebook sometimes). She said so far that the bun's back legs and lower tummy area are apparently thin on fur...but otherwise, the bun is acting healthy. They're taking the bun into the vet's today...I'm eagerly awaiting news from the visit. I'm not sure what would cause loss of fur only on the back legs and lower tummy, but hopefully they took the bun to a bun-savvy vet...

I'm hoping for some good news and that things go okay! :)

Got news!!

They just got back from the vet and she posted that the bun is a girl, and the thing with her back legs and tummy is urine scalding. I was also able to find out that the bun is only a couple months old...

It's like Flower all over again...(I miss my girl so much :tears2:).

I'm going to try to call her in a few minutes to talk to her and give her loads of advice about care, etc.

:)

OH YES...they're DEFINITELY going to keep her. I'm also friends with her sister...and she said they're absolutely SMITTEN with the bun. :)

They = my friend and her parents (who she lives with).

I hope I didn't overwhelm her, lol...I sent her TONS of information (diet, housing, recommendations for what to do with a rescue, etc) and recommended RO. I really hope she (or her parents) join...it's such a great site, especially for a new bun slave. (They don't know yet what they're in for...but it sounds like they're already slaves, lol!)

How exciting...:D

Edited to add: I remember how painful Flower's urine scalding looked. I remember that she would walk on her toes a bit on her back legs, and they would shake. Poor baby...
