Hi Everyone,

I need fingers crossed for tomorrow afternoon! *squeal* We may be bringing home our first house bunny!!:bunnyheartI don't know too much about her, except that she is a red-eyed-white nethie and is around one or two years old. The lady said she is a sweetheart and loves cuddles. The only sorta badthing is that she is not spayed...or they don't think she is. *If* we bring her home, I'm going to be a nervous wreck when it's time for her spay.:twitch: Ah! Please please think of us and pray that it works out to bring this darling home. I'll post pics ASAP tomorrow! Our appointment to come is at 2:00pm.:bunny24 :bunnybutt:

Ditto what Bo B said. ^ ^

Hope she comes home with YOU and you spoil her with tons of TLC at her spay surgery time.
She'll appreciate that you are there, and CARE!

You can count on the RO forum to offer advice and support when she goes for her long-term health OVH. (ovarian hysterectomy).

Cheers!! And Welcome to joining the Bunny Parents Clan.

:nodYes! Lots of pics. :camera

Quick question though...is it true that REWs are deaf? I think I read somewhere that they are more inclined towards blindness and deafness?? Is this totally false?

I hope it works out!

I haven't heard of REW being deaf, although sight problems are fairly common. You might see her "scanning," or moving her head from side to side. Some REWs do this to help them see things more clearly. My New Zealand Oberon rocks his whole body slightly when hescans. Some will see perfectly, others will have some vision impairment. Some might be blind but most blind rabbits get on so well that it's actually hard to tell!

Okay, maybe I had that backwards, it was more blindness in REWs than deafness. lol I'll be sure to watch for the scanning when we go to meet her today. Even if she does have a vision problem it wouldn't affect our decision to adopt her. I can't wait! Not long now...:apollo:

Congrats!
I have never heard if they are blind or deaf but they're eyes are really sensitive to sunlight and the brightness of snow.

She's Here! She's Here!! :yahoo:

I fell head over heels the moment I saw her....I think she's the cutest bun, of course I'm just a tad bit biased. LOL She's an itty bitty girl(tiny ears!), a picky eater, butvery laid back. They said to get her spayed soon and to make sure that the vet uses gas anesthesia...something about IV meds aren't good for rabbits. I've got a lot of learning to do before scheduling it next week or the next. I want to get her settled in before the big surgery.

Anyhow, she needs a name...her name is'Abby', should I keep it?
