I have 2 mini flop rabbits and woke up Sundaythey where both dead?? They are kept inside away from the cold, theyfelt like they both died at the same time. They where just about 8months old.

I have a devastated daughter and am trying to replace them, but I'd like to know why they passed first?

Does anyone know a breeder close to Chattanooga TN?

HELP

Before getting another bunny, you need to findout what happened to the other two. Did they stop eating anddrinking?

No, they have always ate and drank really well.My husband was just playing with them the night before, and they wherefine? Nobody else was around them, I was sick in bed and the kids wherenot home?

So sorry about your loss. Thoughts and prayers are sent your way.

I would investigate their immediate environment and conditions...

How long have you had them? Are they siblings? Where did you get them?

When was their last visit to the vet?

What was their diet?

What kind of bedding/litter were you using?

Is it possible they both got into something that could have caused this?

Did they have cages? Separate ones?

I am sorry to hear about your rabbits. Have youburied them yet? If not, I would take the bodies to your vet and havehim determine the cause of death. You do not want to get any new bunsuntil it is determined it was not some deadly virus, which would spreadto your new rabbit as soon as you got it.

When you have everything worked out, I do know a couple breeders over that way that I could give you their e-mails.

In order to help you figure out the cause of death (if we even can) weneed information such as specific feed.... everything they had to eatfor those last couple of days....

bedding, litter, how was the cage set up? Complete details on that always helps.

Did you notice any less poos in their cage/litterbox?

Were they in the cage together and were they both males? or females?

The more info you give us, the better chance we can help.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I agree with the others that I'ddo my best to find out whatthey died of so that it doesn't happen with the next rabbit(s) you get.

If you've not seen the Rainbow Bridge Poem, you might take alook at it. It's brought somecomfort to those of usthat have loved and lost.http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm

I fully agree with everyone here. Thereis always a cause and effect. If you could give us what theeating habits were like, if there was a change in mood, wherethe rabbits posing them selfs different( such as were they relaxedkicking their feet out), did they stay under the bed for longer amountsof time(just wanting to be left alone), and did they get into somethingthat was not bunny proofed. To me my first thought is ablockage or a chemical:(. I'm very sorry its not easy losinga loved one. Its a good idea to go to a breeder so you canget there parents info (genetically speaking). But beforethat we most definitely need to make sure this doesn't happenagain(poor little guys):(. I think it has to do withsomething in thereenvironments if they were doinggreatthe past night. Do you spend alot of time withthem? How manyhours aday? Good luck andplease let us know what the outcome is and the answers to all arequestions well surely giveus an idea of what happened.

So sorry for your loss. The very bestthing to do would be get an autopsy from your vet. Most vetsdo this reasonably. A little more info would be helpful, especially to your vet. Definitely check to see if they couldhave eaten something if they didn't seem sick the night before.

you know what could have happend.. that they weresoo close that one of them died for some reason. and the other one gotto depressed and died...

i'm really sorry for your loss! its aweful thy both had to go! :(

When I read this thread, my first thought alsowas "did they get into something poisonous?". To have two buns pass onat the same time, suddenly... it's got to make you really wonder. Iwould be either that they got into something they shouldnt have, orthey came down with some virus or something that neither could fightoff.

I'm very sorry about your loss.... I've never yet lost a pet bun, but Ican imagine how hard it must be. I cant even comprehend how painful itmust be to lose both at once, though....

Please know that you are in all of our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

I would really like to hear from your breeders my way, please send me there E-mail address.

Thanks
