I'm not sure if anyone else has problems with the music files on the board -- but my computer immediately freezes up when I open a post with a music file on it -- then I have to re-boot my computer :(. I'm unable to read any thread that has a music file attached because of this.

Just something to consider -- I would appreciate a "warning" so I would know not to read the thread.

Thanks!!! Pam

Oh, Pam! So sorry about this!I did post a warning on Sherman's "birthday" thread, but since I didn't start the Batman thread, I wasn't able to do it there.

I'll keep this in mind.

Again, I'm so sorry. Thanks for letting us know that this is a problem.

Carolyn, any suggestions on protocols for adding sound files within a thread where people who have computers with the capability to load them without problem can enjoy them yet they not interfere with the folks for whom they present technical difficulties?

I don't want to ruin anyone's fun : (

The strange this is that I don't have a problem with most sites. There has only been one rabbit breeders site that I cannot visit because of the sound files. The others play fine without freezing my computer.

No, no, Pam. Don't think that at all! :)

These issues frequently come up on these types of boards. The solution is always to figure out a protocol where those who can can and those who can't can't ... and if there is no viable protocol to accomplish that, then the protocol is to just not upload them.

The bottom line is to keep the board functioning for the enjoyment of all. If it comes down to it we can continue to have a good time without the sound files (we've been doing it for a long time now... ;)... ). The administrator may come along at some point any way and tell us not to do it because they eat up a lot of bandwidth.

I'm just so glad that you were honest enough to let us know what was going on so that we could come up with a solution. I don't want to diminish anyone's enjoyment on the board!:) And I'm so sorry that you were inconvenienced by having tore boot and all ... been there, done that ... and it ain't fun at all!

Just caught this post. Sorry for the delay in response.

Thanks, BunnyMommy! Good Idea. I'll see what I can do.

More on this later.
