Hi guys,

They found a baby mouse at my parents house. Not a pet shop kind. It's eyes are not open yet. And sis says it barely has fur. My father and sister gave it some water and it pee'd. What should we do with it? Can it be saved? What should we give it? Should we release it into the wild or can it be kept as a pet afterwards? We really do try to save whatever we can.

Thanks guys!

I'd take it to a vet's office and see if anyone there could take care of it. I think they are very hard to raise if you don't know how, but I'm not sure. Good luck!

Most vets can't take care of a rabbit around here... Plus, none are open til Monday and no offense but with Wiggles' surgery and Dahlia's upcoming spay, I have no money for the mouse.

My parents are probably going to bring it here so I can try and save it. :biggrin2:I hope so! This lil guy (or gal) can be glad that my grandmother was too terrified to kill it. They are being invaded at home :?

yep, i'd take it to the vet asap. obviously it will need nutrience/food/water and only the vet will be able to supply what it needs. in the meantime, keep it very warm and try not to handle it too much. i would imagine the tiny wee thing is very fragile.

They just brought it over. It's sooooooooo cute! I had kept Bam-Bam's hair so I made it a nest with it and it burrowed itself in it right away. My sister was happy. I will call my vet on Monday and see if he can do something but really I won't be spending a fortune for it.

Here ya go... Sorry, the camera sucks with closeups.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww guys

I didn't wanna hold the lil fella much because I am a bit worried about it being safe and all but I felt so bad. He was crawling around squeaking. I scooped him up and he curled up and fell asleep in my hand. He's such the cutest thing!

I told MrBinky that his eyes would probably open tomorrow and one just open right now while he was in my hand. If I put him back in his bow, he crawls around looking for my hand and comes straight back to snooze in it. I guess he really misses the warmth.

So now I decided to try a lil solid food and there he is, nibbling at it while holding it with his paws...

It's just so cute! :inlove:

I really can't allow myself to get attached though... Lol. Plus, I still don't know for sure if he will make it...

I raised 3 of them by hand. It wasn't the easiest. You need to use the tiniest eye dropper and I used KMR. They did fine. I remember it taking a long time to feed each one because you can't put too much in their mouths.

Good Luck. Also remember to keep him someplace warm. I pulled rabbit fur to make a nest for my 3. It was really hard to let them go but you will find out that even if you handle him everyday, he will become wild.

Thanks :)

That is what I did, I put him in rabbit fur. You are right about feeding them. Pffffft so freakin tiny. Lol. I am calling the vet tomorrow to see if they can tell me what I should do with him. :)

Oh sorry, I was sure I had posted :?Mousey passed away 2 days later. :(I got to see hislil eyes, and cuddle him.. It was sad. I doubt he could have been saved. I think he had probably come into contact with poison. :(

Poor little thing, atleast he didn't pass alone and cold. You did such a wonderful thing for him.

Scurry free little boy :rainbow:
