As I'm sitting here typing I'm looking at Shermanstretched out asleep on the bare floor bars of hiscage! He seems to prefer sleeping there than anywhere else.

Do any of you have "beds" in the cage for your bunnies? Heused to like sleeping in his litter box but not any more. I'mthinking of buying him one of those dog beds that look something liketeepees. You know the ones, they're made of a soft materialand have a round bottom with a back that rises up into a canopy ofsorts.

Rabbit comfort doesn't necessarily coincide withour own ideas. Our hutches have nice, shelteredsleeping/eating compartments, but more often than not the buns preferto spend their time in the "outside" area, in all kinds of weather andtemperatures.

Only downside of bedding is the propensity of some buns to eat theirbedding and cause other problems. I understand Tucker wasrelieved of his fur rug after his bout with GI Stasis, even thoughCarolyn wasn't sure it was a factor, or not.

We sometimes throw down place mats purchased cheaply at yardsales. As soon as they get soiled, they are either washed ordiscarded. Buns use them occasionally.

Both Roger and Luv have a cardboard box that imade a door and a window. Rogers stands more as a toy box and Luv chewshers up and also goes poop in there. Roger is better trained than herto use the potty. I like the box for myself cause i can justdo another when it gets tore up too bad or dirty. I wish Roger wouldtake more of a liking to it. He does have his cage lined with cardboardmostly to protect his feet until i get him a resting mat.

I have a cat bed in Iszy's cage. Shelays in it most of the time. Lenci, on the other hand, prefers to lay on the cold floor.

Chernish does not mind sleeping on the wirebottom of the cage. He never sleeps or lies in his litter box, he justuses it for what its intended. He has a box in his cage so he can sleepin it, but he does not mind the wire floor.

He looks so cute when he goes to the washroom in his litter box, he isso serious that my mom wants to give him a newspaper to read while heis there.

I actually took it out because I worry about bacteria when they wetit. Tucker's not a big bed wetter, but Fauna is.Regardless, after almost losing him, I've removed everything that couldbe a potential problem whether it was or not.

Tucker does love his comfort though. I purchased restingboard instead and have replaced it with his bed. I go backand forth about whether to putthe bedback ornot. At the moment, it's not in his cage.I also notice that when he is out and about, more times than not, ifhe's not laying on the rug under his favorite rocking chair, he'ssprawled out on the wooden floor.

I also noticed that the bed, when he did wet it, would hold the smell.

I also wanted to say that when Fudge was alive, his bed was our 4 kitchen chair seats, he was so secure on those, underthe kitchen table that we never sat at the table as it was allocated as'Fudgie's wee house'. He would poke his head out between the chairswhenever we went in the kitchen to beg for food. I f he dropped it offthe chairs he would stare at it pitifully, expecting it to float backup to his mouth!!!!Bless you darling :)

Our rabbits have several places they like tosleep: under the kitchen table, on their shelf in their cage, Valurahas her corner in her cage, Chompers is known to sprawl out, totallyzonked, in the middle of the living room floor. I suspect he wants tobe front and center in the event of a major food drop of some sort.

Both FuzzButt & Biscuit have an untreatedbasket in their cage that has a fleece blanket in. They alsohave a thicker piece of fleece that sets on the floor (their cage is adouble decker). I had read that fleece was the safestmaterial for rabbits. FuzzButt by far, prefers the comfort ofher basket and blanket. Biscuit on the other hand seems toprefer the resting board on her cage floor, although sometimes she willcuddle with FuzzButt on one of the blankets! :)

I've always wanted to get the buns beds. The catbeds at the petstore are so cute. My boyfriend always teases me becauseI buy cute stuff for the rabbits and they don't care. I know I'd getmore pleasure out of their cute beds than they would. They like tosleep under the couch.

I saw the most adorable couch and chaise lounge in Ross the othernight. It was miniature, probably for teddy bears, but perfect size forthe rabbits. I wanted to get the couch for Paul and the chaise for MissMella, but my boyfriend reminded me that they'd probably just try toeat them.

we got our bunnies cat cube beds.. they're paddedfoam cubes with two sides with holes for them to go in.. mr licks lovesthem! princess will sleep in them occassionally with him, but she alsolikes the mat on our kitchen floor. however, when she hit 4months old princess also marked both of the beds :p andstarted to chew them.. otherwise, they get used lol.. we tried to buy afleece bottom one, but neither will go in it except to use it as alitter box, or try to dig in it.

Guin will sleep anywhere, but she has a littledivit she has worn out in the carpet on the third floor. That is whereshe hangs out.

Gir loves to sleep in the fleecelined hammock. Its eitherthat or the hanging critter cube. He likes to be suspended Iguess. If he isnt in one of those, then he is sprawled out inthe little corner litter box on the third floor of the condo. That wayhe is close to Guin =) But he doesnt go potty in that box,and I wish he would get at least HALF his poops into the box!

I did get her a little bed but she doesn't use itat all when she's running around and gets tired she rests under my endtable between the phone book and the magazines and just squishesbetween them and lays down.

In her cage she digs a hole thru the bedding and sleeps on the plasticof the cage floor perfectly dug out to fit her entire body as shestretches.
