luna21,
Syringe feed her fresh pineapple juice every 4 hours, 3 ccs, about 3 tablespoons.
Give her canned pumpkin, a syringe full as well as the pineapple juice. The pineapple juice will keep her hydrated.
As Auntie Nae said, some simethicone will help with the gas. If you canget NutriCal, give her that so that she's getting nutrients.
Give her a papaya pill every 8 hours.
It's an agressive treatment, but it worked for me. Massage her belly, let her get her exercise so she can work it out.
The bunched up position usually indicates they're uncomfortable. Is she grinding her teeth?
If you have none of the above at your disposal for the night, make sureyou keep giving her water. Flip her upside down on her back and syringefeed, or get her to drink water by putting it on her lips if you don'thave a syringe on hand tonight.
From about page 10 and on of the G.I. Stasis post, you'll see where you can get the above things.
The way I went about it was:
-Fresh (definitely not canned) Pineapple Juice to break up the hairball, every 4 hours 3 ccs
-Papaya Pill: broken in half, one pill every 8 hours. Put it in her mouth as far back as you can and she'll chew it up.
-Simethicone: for gas that's caught up in the hairball, 2x a day - .03 ml.
-NutriCal: to stimulate appetite, boost immunity, help as a laxative, and provide nutrients. I was giving Tucker about a pea-sized dollop 3-5times a day.
-Canned Pumpkin: As much as she'll take. This helps with fiber andcleaning her out. Give it to her when you give her the Pineapple Juice. At least 1 or 2 ccs.
-Pedialyte: twice a day to help with electrolytes and dehydration, although she'll be getting hydrated by the pineapple juice.
Keep the faith. She can make it through with your help.
Let me know how things are going. If you wish for my email address,it's posted under my profile. Prayers and thoughts are going your wayfrom here.
