died rabbit

my brothers rabbit enreaky died this morning mybrother did not give him water for 3 days and hasn't changed his cagein like a moth.i would have but i do not check enreakybecause i thought my brother takes care ofhim:bigtears:

omg,that poor bunny had no water!i hope yourbrother is not going to get another bunny,it takes a lot ofresponsibility to look after a pet,but then sometimes we have to learnby our mistakes

im sorry the bunny died,but that is what happens when an animal is not well cared for

How old are you and your brother?

Do your parents know what happened?

Do you have other animals? Are you able to care for them?

That makes me so upset. I would strongly notallow your brother to get another pet, let alone a rabbit if he's thatcareless. You just don't forget to give water to a poor animal. I'msorry to hear that this happend, and I hope if you get another bunny,you don't let this happen again and if he wants another rabbit, I wouldstrongly say not a chance.

You haveNO business starting a rabbitry or owning ANY pets for that matter.

Learn some responsibility, for God's sake. ThereisNO excuse for letting an animal die fromneglect!!!

If you have time to post on the forum, you have time to water YOUR rabbit and clean his cage.

First of all, saying it was your brother's pet is NO EXCUSE. That is turning a blind eye to the problem.
I think you and your brother are too inexperienced and too ignorant toown a bunny. You should EDUCATE yourself FIRST, THEN THINK TWICE beforeowning a pet as gentle and delicate as a bunny.

I am sorry, but you are not going to find too much sympathy on these boards based on what you have been posting.

I 100% agree with Laura. If I wasn't as into rabbits, and say mybrother was and he owned a rabbit, even if I hated animals I wouldstill check up on it! It makes me sick to think of the rabbit dying ofdehdration and you couldn't even take the time to give it a bowl ofwater. A inoccent creature died of your own stupidity of a problem thatcould have been fixed. I'm trying to write forum appropriate but heck,it's hard!

Don't even consider trying to start a rabbitry, you obviously cannothandle any sort of responsibilty. Don't even try to blame your brotherfor this, you are as much at fault as he is. Laura has proof that youatleast stated it was YOUR rabbit. Learn some responsibilty and taketime out of your"important" schedule to atleast care forsomething other then yourself thatyou have takenresponsibility in owning!! My heart brakes for the poor thing and itmakes me sick that you could just forget to give it water and neglectit like that. This is a sickening case of animal cruelty that couldhave been prevented. ummmmm..i have other things to do as well,but i make sure that my bunshave all their creature comforts,i was just wondering,if this bunny hadno water i suppose he had no food either,and another thing i realizeits warm over where you guys are now correct?was that bunny outside inthe heat with no water and food?and 4 is still pretty young,he was notold for the weather,he just needed a drink and food!and maybe a bit oflove and attention.

That poor bunny sat in his filthy hutch starving and thirsty andprobably in the heat,let this be a lesson that you just cannot neglectyour pets.

I cant believe all you guys jumping allover this person about her brothers rabbit and pretty much blaming iton this person that his/her brothers rabbbit died...yeah itssad it died that his/her brother didnt take care of it...i have aneighbor that has a bun andall the times i have been there ihave to give it water but what am i suppose to do break into her houseto give it water? And i tell her all the time the bun needswater!Unfortunately people dont give a crap about animals andits sad. I think you all need to give this kid a break maybe he/sheneeds to be given advise on how to raise rabbits dont beat the poor kiddown!

I am very sorry about the bunny. I know you are sad about it. I imagine your brother was sad too.

I hope your parents do not let your brother get anotherrabbit. Sometimes parents let their kids take care of theiranimals and the kids don't do a good job. It's best if theparents take care of the pets. When I was a little girl, Ihad a parakeet and I didn't give him water after the water in hislittle bitty water bowl evaporated. It was anaccident. His bowl was only about the size of a thimble, buthedied. He was old, but I thought maybe I killedhim. I felt horrible.

Then, as anadult, mybunny Sophie got stungbysome red wasps that had builta nestinher nest box. I didn't see them because there was no way toopen the nest box. She was okay, but I am sure it was verypainful for her. I felt horrible. I now know it isbest to keep my bunnies inside, so theycan live as houserabbits.

My only reply, with what I just went through inrescuing a bunny in the same situation...hop free, littleEnreaky! I don't think anything else I have to say would beappropriate for the thread. I still cry when Ithink of how Flower had to live.
