This year when I show, I want to be prepared, so anyone with any show experience might be able to help out.
When the judge questions you after you show, what are some common questions they ask? I'm almost always caught off guard with them! I study my stuff, but always get caught with questions I don't know. :X I'm starting my studying this year EARLY (it's only January!).
Any other tips would be great, too.

At our fair they don't usually ask questions but sometimes the younger kids get stuff like:

What other colors are there in this breed?

What Class does this rabbit belong to?

What is (common ailment)?

How do you (treat an ailment or perform grooming)?

Really there is a broad spectrum of things that could be asked....

Kat

Yeah. I've gotten the color question before, I actually could get that one ;). I'm considered Intermediate, because of my age, and they still ask us questions...Must be our fair.
Last year I got 10th because I couldn't answer two of my four questions (I wish I remember what they were...) and because Cookie wouldn't hold still on the danged table and kept trying to sniff the lop next to her!
Does anyone have any general tips?

Hi, we moved this thread to the Rabbitry, which is the breeding and showing forum (even though it's not marked well, yet, one more thing on that darn to do list!)

Fist off kudos to you for showing 4-H rabbits. I did this when I was in 4-H and had a blast!

Im assuming that you arerefering to the questions they ask for showmanship right?

(I totally understand the rabbit not sitting still thing- mine went after the judges clipboard)

We got asked things like:

What type of fur dose your rabbit have?

What body type is your rabbit?

What is the gestation period of a rabbit?

How may teeth dose a rabbit have?

Questions about various common illness and general health were also common.

Also know about what disqualifications your breed has and a general knowledge of the working standard.

And for a general tip for showman ship remember to look at the Judge and take your time to throughly exam the rabbit.

Good luck! and remember to have fun while you show!

Thank you! I've been working on it for a few years and have notes and scribbles all over my copy. You're welcome to use anything on that site.

I've been in 4-H 10 years now and a teen leader for 4. This study guide has helped me a lot too..

Well in our county we show them how to check for the diseases. Next how to check female or male. How to carry your rabbit. What to feed. If you study the guide you will do great trust me. Hope you do great.
