Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could help me!
I have a lop here that has this white cyst looking thing under his eyelid and it’s quite red. He is concluding in himself and doing everything normal. I was wondering if someone has had anything like this before?

First off would be making sure it's a cyst and not the start of nodular myxomatosis. Myxo would require getting bun to the vet immediately. A cyst will also likely require vet treatment, as where it is could rub on the eye and cause irritation, or even affect the cornea. There's also the possibility of it being infected with pus and bacteria.

If there is a pocket of white pus, it's something the vet will need to evaluate and treat. If there isn't pus, the cyst may go away on it's own after a few days. A warm compress may be helpful with this. But the cyst also needs to be closely monitored for signs it may be rubbing on the cornea and causing a corneal ulcer to develop, which would then need the appropriate treatment as well. If in doubt, it's best to have your bun checked out by a knowledgeable rabbit vet.

Medirabbit: eyelid cysts

Medirabbit: nodular myxomatosis

Medirabbit: corneal abrasion and ulcer

Here's a list of rabbit vets for the UK, if this is where you're located.
