So I got a baby bunny and the lady I got it from said she was a "Nigerian Dwarf bunny". I did some research and I think she meant netherland dwarf bunny, but I don't necessarily think she looks like a netherland dwarf? Also she is pretty big so I thought I'd ask an expert to see if you could clarify what breed and how old she is. I will say the picture of the bunny I was getting is different from what she really looks like. The farm I got her from said she was 3 months.

Probably a mix, but not a Netherland--face and ears are not like the Dwarf breed. Al we care about is happy and healthy. Very cute bunny, enjoy!
You're right. She is happy(she flopped this morning and scared me to death) and I'm taking her to the vet to get checked up on. It's too late, I've already bonded with her so I'm not gonna be able to let her go. I just wanted to see if I could learn more information about her.

To me the face does look like it has some netherland characteristics, though the ears are definitely too long. So netherland mix is possible, especially if she's under 4 lbs when full grown.

The thing with mixes, is the babies can end up looking like a mix of both parents breed, or mostly like one particular parents breed. So she very well could have had one parent that was a netherland dwarf, but the other parent wasn't and she got most of her traits from that parent. She would still technically be part netherland, but just doesn't look like it.

The only reason having a pure bred rabbit is necessary, is for rabbit showing/ breeding, or if you specifically were paying for a purebred rabbit and the person intentionally deceived you. Otherwise, if it's just a pet, the personality and health of the rabbit are usually the main considerations.

She is a cute little bun ♥️

Thank you! Yea, I'm really happy to have her. She's super hand tamed and she's getting along well with our other pets. I think I might get another bunny so she has a friend.

Just keep in mind you cannot keep rabbits together unless they are bonded. To maximize the likelihood and stability of a life-long bond between two rabbits, both rabbits need to be at least 1mo post-spay/neuter and go through the bonding process, which can take a couple weeks to months and does involve housing the rabbits separately for a lot of the time.
