Hi everyone i barely registered on here to get peoples opinion, i am very saddend to say my pet bunny has passed this morning. Just before he passed he let out a screach for a couple seconds and just went limp, i was talking and trying to pick him up to his feet. He wasnt able to stand and was panting a bit and kicking very very lighlty until eventually he stopped and passed in my arms. This was my first pet bunny. My apa hes now gone. This all happend this morning so i burried him in my yard. Rip apa youll be missed by all of us we love u and hope ur in a better place.

So sorry for your loss and the circumstances.I've been there and it's devastating,so don't feel ashamed of your feelings in any way. They break our hearts when they go,particularly like this,it may have been aheart attack and hit him very suddenly. Was he ill beforehand, and how old was he?Take time and don't be too hard on yourself.

He was about two yeara thats what breaks my heart. Tbh to me it didnt seem like he was sick at the time but now that i look at it and doing research on rabbits being sick,he was still for more than usual and it says theyre prolly in pain when that happens and pain from gi stasis cuz his poops were abnormal but i didnt expect him to pass hes had diarea before but nothing major unless in this case it was something major and i missed it. I am sorry for not being better to him he deserved better and deserved to live for much much longer

We all miss things and we all make honest mistakes,or mistakes in genuine ignorance.I understood you feel guilty and wish you could go back and do better, but it doesn't work like that in real life, and you obviously cared a great deal or you wouldn't feel so bad about his death. All you can do is to gain more knowledge and work on the principle that if something doesn't seem quite right,it probably isn't.You learn to trust your instincts with time, and you're always better checking and taking some action than ignoring something.rabbits are their own worst enemies, since they hide pain and discomfort so well, and unless you've seen the problem before,or have advice from someone who has, you're at a disadvantage. Rule of thumb is,if they're abnornally still and quiet, and they just don't look right-get it checked out ASAP-they don't give you much time to get it right.

Yes i really appreciate the kind words from all. And yes i will use this knowledge for the future and hopefully in the future i wont make the same mistake. I prolly wont adopt another bunny for a while but when i do adopt another i will be better
