Apple wood question

I had the pleasure of growing up in a small, old apple orchard. I don't remember having any issues of "apple branch OD" with our bunnies who received copious amounts of apple wood. My 3 get apple branches regularly still, and they don't seem to over eat the bark. Too many leaves may be a possibility, but that'd take a lot. As with anything- introduce slowly, practice moderation. If you have more than you can use right now, dry it and save for later!

Like bright_eyes said, moderation. Grass hays(mix of leaf and stem, not a coarse or too fine a cut), and long stem fresh grass(not a young rich early growth fresh grass, and properly introduced into the diet), is about the only food that can't be overdone. Everything else needs to be balanced because of the different components other foods provide. A little bit is good to supplement the diet, but yes, you can overdo other foods, even rabbit safe branches. They do usually prefer fresh, but you can dry and store branches for later. Also, make sure the branches you give are free of signs of disease.

Also remember to consider the risks of RHDV in the US now, and possible cross contamination of forage, especially if your rabbit isn't vaccinated from the disease. If there are active cases of RHDV in your area, I would only feed outdoor forage if my rabbit was vaccinated, with 35 days for full immunity to take effect, and 14 days for the booster.

We cut 2 apple trees down yesterday. My bun Skittles loves to chew on the branches. Is it possible for her to eat too much?

No, I don't think so - if she's used to fresh stuff. I don't have experience with rabbits that are only fed dry stuff.
