So I got an English angora a little over a month ago. Before I just thought he was a blue or lilac color but then I did more research on it and realized something. His face is a bit of a mixture of brownish and darker grey. I didn’t think much about it until today I shaved him for the first time since getting him. Turns out he’s spotted on his undercoat. He has spots of dark grey/lighter black all over his body. I’ve never personally seen an English angora that looks like that and I was just very curious what color he was. I’m not going to show him or anything I’m just really curious.

The spotty undercoat doesnt indicate anything. THats just different stages of wool growth. The shorter wool will be darker, so if he had some spots where the fur got pulled out it will be shorter and look darker when hes shaved

The head though does look more like an Opal than a Blue
