All the fur on her tail also fell off at one point. I had no idea that under all that fluff, the tail is just a tiny little stick haha. All grown back now though.

Now to find her a perfect forever home!

Also forgot to mention that I re-named her Phoebe (she was previously Georgie). Phoebe means “radiant” or “bright”, which suits her perfectly

Bunny snuggles are the best

I’ve not been on the forum for a long time because of work and study, all my buns behaving themselves, and having no new fosters.

My darling Phoebe found a wonderful new home, but I was still involved in her life and helping her new mum.

We made the decision to spay, because she had a phantom pregnancy and her territorial marking was becoming problematic, but they didn’t even start the surgery because her heart stopped during sedation. They revived her, but tragically she had a seizure the following morning and passed away.

That was just over 3 weeks ago and I’m still utterly heartbroken. She came to me so sick, but with such determination to live and was so happy to be alive, that I’m finding it hard to accept that it’s happened. It’s impacted me more than any other loss I’ve experienced.

I write to her and speak to her every day. I hope I’ll soon be able to move to a place of acceptance and healing.



On the day we scattered her ashes, I felt very calm for some reason. Another tiny baby bunny was found who needed help, who happened to look a lot like Phoebe. On the way home, I was able to bring some things to keep her safe and she’s now in foster care, happy and healthy. I believe little Phoebes led us to her and I love seeing her updates and how well she’s doing

I'm so sorry this happened.
I had a bun pass after his neuter surgery, and it is very heartbreaking. I'm glad you've been able to feel some peace though. With you, she was able to experience being cared for and loved, even though her time was too short.

@HalaBuns I send my condolences also. Losing our fur-loves leaves takes a huge chunk of our hearts. There are losses in our home from the past 20 years (fosters, rescues, adopteds) that still affect me deeply. Similar to @JBun, our rescued Flemish died moments away from coming out of anesthesia from his neuter surgery. Our DVM was just closing up. The necropsy provided answers.

Please hold onto and cherish the good life you provided for Phoebe. We all know so many unwanteds never get the chance to experience a human's love and TLC. It is a wonderful gesture to reach out and help a new rabbit who needs your TLC. We never forget, and that's OK, as we continue to care for those in need.

She was such a special bunny and I wish we could have created more memories together. She looked after me as much as I looked after her and we loved each other so much. I’m sure she’ll be waiting for me one day, but I’m really going to miss her until then.

This little angel was found dumped in the road yesterday and almost got run over. Not quite a baby, but still very young. He/she is incredibly thin, but has had a good amount of food since arriving. I’ve left her (we’ll call her a she as it’s easier) to rest as she is totally exhausted.

She’s incredibly affectionate and loves head rubs. She also has the longest tongue in the world

I will get her vet checked in a couple of days when she is strong enough for another car ride, or sooner if she deteriorates. So say a prayer for this little one.

She’s in my spare bathroom within my 2nd bedroom / office and thus far, my girls seem completely unaware there is another bunny in the house as there are 2 doors between them. That set up may change, as my buns like to hang out with me in the mornings whilst I’m working, so then they would be passing by the closed bathroom door, but I can’t deal with that potential stress today.

Of course the space is not ideal. But better than being outside and unsafe.
