Hello everyone,

Wondering if anyone may have some advice on what I suspect to be an abscess on my rabbit's lower lip, I've attached a photo.

Her name's Flick and she's just over 2 years old, very active and showing no signs of ill health or unnatural behavioural changes. The little white dot is hard to touch and is not discharging. I believe it isn't causing her any discomfort either. I'm just a little concerned what this may or may not develop into basically. Some of the things you read online...

Spoken with my local vet over the phone and explained without showing any photos or anything, was told to keep an eye on it.

If anyone has any information or experienced something like this please let me know :)

I think it would depend if it's an active infection. If there are signs the skin around it is red and inflamed then it would need to be treated with the proper antibiotic, but also may need the pus cleaned out of it. Being near the teeth, I would also be concerned of it being possibly dental related. If you aren't sure, your vet could do a fine needle aspirate and have it tested to see if there's bacteria present.

Thanks for the reply and help :)

Luckily I believe it isn't an active infection, I'll continue to keep an eye on it!
