I gave my rabbit a tab of oxbow digestive support yesterday and i saw some soft and weird poops today! (linked with hair etc)
Here’s a photo. It’s his first time eating these so I’m thinking it’s because i gave him 1 tab of treats and 1 tab of digestive support. He's around 3lbs so maybe that's too much sugar, or he just isn't suitable for eating digestive support. I do see some healthy round poops in there but also some "weird" poops. He's eating and drinking normal. Super active too. Nothing special. Again the some of the poops are very soft ( i squished some) but yeah. I think this might be diarrhea (touchwood). Should I wait a while or book a vet now? My vet probably will not be free until a few days later so maybe i'll have to find another one

No need for a vet. That isn't diarrhea. True diarrhea is liquidy.

Is there a reason for why you were offering digestive support? (was he having any digestive issues?) Is the treat tab also new to him?

Just stop the treat and digestive support... at least for awhile. Let him get back to normal poos with his normal diet (assuming there were no issues before this).

He's shedding and his poops are linked with fur, that's why I offered digestive support.

Those tabs contain grains, so excess carbs, which is likely what caused the cecotropes to become mushy. This is called cecal dysbiosis or intermittent soft cecotropes. True diarrhea is when the fecal balls are also watery or pudding like, and is considered a true emergency, as it's caused by a pathogenic bacteria causing enterotoxemia.

More grass hay, particularly coarse hay(crunchy stems), is the best thing for digestive motility, including during shedding. So if you can find some grass hay with hard stems and your bun will eat it, add some of that to your rabbits diet while he's shedding.

If you still want to try the digestive support, it's better to introduce it into the diet gradually, to give your rabbits digestive microflora time to adapt. First wait until his poops are back to normal for several days. Then start with a small piece, maybe 1/8-1/6 a tab, once a day for a few days, then if there are no signs of mushy cecals, increase to a bit more. You may only be able to work up to half a tab, as a full tab may be too much for your little bun. Personally I would stick with trying the coarse hay. Good quality grass hay(no mold, no noxious weeds) is the best thing for a rabbits digestion.
