My bunny died r.i.p mark

My new Zealand bunny mark was 3 years old and this night at 6 started not eating but my vet opens at 8am so I was going to take him then cause he doesn't eat and pooped very little and peed twice but didn't move much and we syringe him food, water, massage his stomach cause he had a big gas attack a year ago then this morning he was a bit on the side so I told my mom to check him and he was cold and limp and then started kicking and crying and died I can't stop crying cause he's my first bunny I ever got and so young does anyone know of the cause?
